JFC,

Just watched the highlights on nfl.com, it looks like an amazing game. Kinda mad I didn't see it live.

Saints just get owned by the NFC West in the playoffs. Gregg Williams free to join the Rams!!

Gonna be pretty awesome to see the Niners D up against the Packers offense next week.

The 9'ers are winning because of special teams. The 9'ers have won the battle of starting field position all year.

Uh, they won because the Saints kept fumbling with an assist to AIDS secondary play.

9ers have a chance against GB if they actually run the ball. If Smith throws the ball 40 times against GB they'll get blown out.

I actually think match up wise they shape up better vs GB than NYG, but obviously GB are the better team and they'd be on the road, so I'd expect them to be 7 or 8 point dogs at GB and 2 or 3 point favourites at Candlestick vs NYG.

Maybe the 9ers aren't just good at getting fumbles but are really good at forcing TOVs. Lead the league this year in forcing TOVs and led the league in TOV differential, we are +32 for the season now, currently +8 on the Packers who are in 2nd. We are just lucky and the Saints are just not I guess, or maybe its a skill. Oh wait, Saints were -3 for the season before yesterdays game and now are -7 for the season.

GB has actually tortured the 9ers over the last 20 years or so. I hate them especially with Favre running the show. Then again, Brees was undefeated against the 9ers before yesterdays game, so maybe things are a changing.

Obviously there is some element of skill involved in forcing turnovers but it's also really high variance. The Saints are a great example of it, the defense in 2009 was very similar (I think Sharper may have been the only starter who changed) to the defense last year yet in 2009 they were top 3 in TOV differential and last year were negative. This year still isn't vastly different on defense and they're bottom 5 on turnovers forced.

Saints were sloppy with ball safety on special teams yesterday and it cost them. Running bad on recoveries didn't help either. If 9ers play how they did yesterday against GB they'll lose, simple as that. GB have an equivalent offense and better defense (probably excluding the pass rush) and have been just as good at forcing and preventing TOVs as SF this year.

Sharper is one of the best all time at forcing turnovers. Of course there is variance involved, but you don't have a +32 TO ratio without having guys that know what they are doing.

How about this quote from Harbaugh when he got hired:

"I don’t take vacations. I don’t get sick. I don’t observe major holidays. I’m a jackhammer."

I think there is suppose to be rain in SF next weekend... so that is more reason to want NYFG to win today

Some turnovers are luck and some are skill. Whitner literally knocked out Pierre. Obviously I hope the guy isn't hurt but I guess that was both lucky and skillful for him to do it. Knocking someone out cold like that I can't imagine is a pretty common thing. The first pick was pretty skillful. The second, was a little more lucky. The special teams turnovers were definitely a lot more fluky.
