Prolly belongs in Niners team thread but Crabs has overall been not very good compared to how he looked in college and being Kiper's #1 overall iirc.

Then again, hold out + Singletary + lockout, so he still has some rope.

As far as DBs I thought it was slight edge to NO over NYG based mainly on injuries? Could be very wrong tho.

Giants win the whole thing. Giants win, Patriots win, rematch, Giants win the Bowl.

Yuck. But that's how I see it. Giants are playing out of their minds.

Edge to Eli, imho.

Its fair to say, the Giants and 49ers both dont deserve to win the Super Bowl.

Theyve both been mediocre or worse, in the past 3 yrs, and they gavent even been dominant this year. SF schedule was soft.

You realize that strength of schedule has nothing to do with how dominant a team was, right? Like, suppose they played the Rams every week and went 16-0 with 12 legit blowouts. That's about as dominant as you can get.

SF O-line 26/32 in the league with 44 sacks allowed. Pretty horrific matchup with the GMen front 4 doing some work lately. They won't even really need to blitz all that much to get consistent pressure on Smith and be able to drop back in coverage. I hope Alex Smith doesn't just implode cause rooting for 9ers.

And the Packers and Saints did? You do realize that both had softer schedules than the 9ers did. I'm glad you believe that a team needs to be good for a couple of years to really deserve a SB. Why?

There were a couple of games that the 9ers gave up a ton of sacks that really skew things. Against Baltimore, Rachal played when Synder went out and he is terrible and we gave up 9 sacks in that game. Our OL isn't great and will likely give up a couple of sacks, but I doubt it'll be like the Baltimore game.

The Giants wide receivers are "scary", "fast", "big play makers." No one seems to talk about our wide receiver core as if they are garbage.

I mean is our group of receivers that bad? Is Michael Crabtree just not as good as guys like Cruz or Nicks or Maningham? Is Kyle Williams just a guy that will be with the team 1 year and dumped because he lacks the big play making abilities?

I hear all the talk about Walker and Davis but no love for Crabtree or Williams.

Do you all think that Williams and Crabtree can be as competitive and as skilled as the three "beasts" on the Giants?

Kyle Williams:
20 Rec 240 yards 12.0 YAC 3 TDs

Michael Crabtree:
72 Rec 874 yards 12.1 YAC 4 TDs

Ted Ginn:
19 Rec 220 yards 11.6 YAC 0 TD

======================================

Hakeem Nicks:
76 Rec 1,192 yards 15.7 YAC 7 TD

Victor Cruz:
82 Rec 1,536 yards 18.7 YAC 9 TD

Mario Manningham:
39 Rec 523 yards 13.4 YAC 4 TD

There is little chance our WRs are better or close to the Giants. It's one of the huge edges the Giants have over the 9ers. Eli is a pretty big edge as well. I like our D although your DL overall is better.

they tend to be closer to the BART stop, often by the burger king.

would you guys rather this be the 2nd or first game on Sunday?

as a Pats fan, I'll either enjoy the 2nd game in the post coitus esque glow of making the SB...or probably not be able to stomach watching it if we lose Sunday.

flip side is if I was a Giants/49ers win, I probably woudn't enjoy watching the first game very much b/c I would be nervously anticipating "my" game and you don't even know if the winner of this game really matters to you

SF/NO being game 1/4 was great last weekend (with the win, obv) but before the game that was my wish too. to me there's a huge difference between two days of games and one. i'd rather be the first game always but NE/BAL can distract me enough in the first game, but having to wait a day while other fans are already in the next round is never fun.

so sunday it's a marginal diff but would want first, but in a sat/sun format, i need saturday to keep my sanity

2nd game. (lol jets fan)

2 years ago when they lost to the colts in the first game i barely watched the second game. only thing i really remember about it is OT, and how it changed the rules.

last year, the first game was semi enjoyable (although i was still thinking about the jets/lolsteelers plenty).

i could see myself (if jets played 1st game and won) watching the second game but not really enjoying it. basically on as background noise kind of.

I didn't pay attention to any of the Pats/Tebow game after the Niners won. But on Sunday, I watched both and payed attention. I would rather it be the second game. If it was the first game, no matter what happened I wouldn't care about the 2nd one.

sure but the flip side is you may get to spend the afternoon knowing your going to the SB and watching your 2 potential opponents play. I don't think there is possibly a better scenario for enjoying a game your team isn't playing in
