Wasn't knocking the Giants. Probably the only words I'd change would be (4-3) "at best." I like it how I said it in the previous post (4-3) "maybe worse."

I'll still take Steelers 17 - Giants 13 in Super Bowl. Hope they both get there. Realize we're a long way from there.

Let's not get all celebratory yet. They put up a real stinker today. Nobody showed up. The dropped passes are nauseating, and the defense couldn't get a sack and couldn't get much pressure. I'll wait a week before chalking it totally up to an Eagles team that came to play and played great (particularly their defense) and/or the wind. I think the absence of Burress was significant.

Giants clinch division! Yay!

Real stinker of a game, but at least we're in the playoffs. Probably rest BJ until playoffs now.

I have concerns about whether this team is built for winter conditions in Giants stadium. They bungled their way through a windy game against Washington at the end of last year, and their first windy game this year was another clunker. Their big run last year was all on the road, and the game in GB was cold but not windy. I hope I'm wrong.

Nearly every home game that I've been to has been very windy.

The Ravens game was very windy fwiw.

Obviously a crappy performance. I never thought the team was going to go 15-1 though, so hopefully this is the right type of loss at the right time. I'd expect the team to be playing at a high level next week vs Dallas.

Locking up the division makes the game a lot easier to swallow.

Nobody's going out and dancing in the streets, but winning the division is an accomplishment worth "celebrating."

They also put up a stinker in Cleveland. If they don't show up in Dallas next week, then I'll be a little concerned. This team has shown they respond to adversity quite well.

man i am ultimate runbad for the giants, last year i attended the vikings debacle, this year, today's game.

i think this game was mostly an anomaly, but the lack of a deep pass threat is disturbing. the eagles played 1 on 1 coverage vs hixon all game and he never made them think that might be a bad idea.

I am really not all that worried by this. Philly is a strong team, 4th in DVOA, they ran super good on 3rd downs, we ran bad, it is one bad game in a season of awesome play. If anything this will be a nice kick in the ass and motivate the team. Hopefully it wont cost us the #1 seed and potentially home field in the nfc game.

Ah, the life of luxury us once destitute Giants fans now live.

I still think the Eagles are one of the top ten teams in football. The Giants clearly weren't focused today, ran pretty bad while the Eagles ran hot as ****. Eli was a little off.

It happens. Let's just get it out of the way now. I'm not too concerned.

Although lacking Plax clearly showed today.

See, I don't get this. I don't mean to convey a "sky is falling" belief. It's one game. Let's see what they do next week. But to say the Eagles "ran well" is bunk IMO. The Giants blocked two FGs, one for a TD. They had LJ Smith pinned on the sideline on 3rd and long and inexplicably Kenny Phillips allowed him to head back towards the center of the field and get a first down. The Giants dropped pass after pass after pass.

Yes, the Eagles played well and credit should be given to them. But the Giants played BADLY. It's not that they didn't get the breaks -- hell, they did get the breaks, and still did nothing with them. The defense could not get off the field, and the offense was inept.

Hopefully it was just one game, in a week full of distractions. But I don't like this effort, being followed by a game in Dallas against another team (possibly a better team than Philly) that absolutely *has* to win.

The Eagles did not "run good". If anything, the Eagles ran bad with the two blocked FGs, plus one of them getting returned for a TD at the end of the first half.

The fact is, we couldn't stop them on third down nearly THE WHOLE GAME. They played better than us yesterday, but I wouldn't be too worried yet. Let's see how the G-Men do against the Boys next week before any talk of skyfalling, etc. It was a pretty stressful week afterall.

re: running good - the eagles way statistically overwhelmed their expectation on 3rd downs in this game.

but we have to temper these thoughts of it being mere variance by introducing this game into the rest of the season - i.e. maybe the pass rush isn't as good as we thought it was. so that's a concern. with a pass rush like yesterday's the team is doomed. i'm not panicking about yesterday but there's flaws that the eagles exposed. the giants aren't likely to play many games like yesterday but there's not going to be any games like against seattle any time soon.

Personal view here.

I think Eli sucks. Straight up. He had one good pass to Nixon, which should of been a TD. Other than that, he didn't have control of the huddle. Players were running as if it was Thanksgiving with their heads cut off. He should control his players. I really believe with the Giants BEASTS of RBs, I could be the QB for NYG and you would see no difference. And ever time he threw and no one was there, or missed by a mile, I felt that much better about my view.

Oh, and don't tell me he won a superbowl last year. There is plenty of videos showing exactly how the time clock was messed up. People have viewed the rule book, and the ref's caused that win.

Giants finish the season 3-0, and lose 1st round in playoffs. My prediction. (Dallas won't make play-offs either). They lose to Giants and Philly, win over bal, and Philly will take their spot in the playoffs).

By the way this was proven to be completely 100% incorrect. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I happen to think the Eagles didn't play a particularly great game and the Giants just played worse. Seems like most of the year, every little thing has gone the Giants way most of the time, while yesterday the opposite was true.

I am still not too worried, we need to see at least one more bad game before we sound any warning bells.

Btw who are you guys rooting for tonight, Tampa or Carolina?

Who are we rooting for tonight?

Ah, I see AG beat me to the question... I would say I'm rooting for Carolina, since they could easily see another loss against Denver, us (wraps it up obv) or @ NO the final week to still give us home field throughout. If TB wins tonight, excellent chance they run the table giving us little breathing room.

In other words, I want TB to take the L, since I don't see where else they're going to get one this year.

If Carolina wins than we have a 1 game lead with 3 to play and a h2h matchup. H2H is the first tie breaker right?
