WVU is not clearly better than duke

as has been pointed out. You should know, I'm sure you watched the Cal game. Duke just crushed Cal with their best player hitting 1 FG and the team going 3-17 from 3PT. Duke is playing at a very high level, that Cal game would have been 30 points if Duke was shooting at a good rate.

WVU got screwed being in UK's region, I won't argue that. They should have been in Cuse's or Duke's region. That's a legit gripe.

But remember, WVU has hardly been screwed overall. your bad luck in facing UK has been offset by good luck in playing ****ty teams that gave you a free pass into the elite 8. a 15 seed, a 10 seed, and an 11 seed. That's the easiest route to the E8 of any team in the tourney going by lowest seeds.

FWIW - Around the Horn was singing the praises of Gus Johnson, so I think the knows how popular he is.

Beating Cal when Cal shoots poorly doesn't mean anything. Of course you dominated, it's a matchup nightmare for Cal's midget team. It'd be like WV playing against a really weak rebounding team - unless they shoot like 60%, we are going to annihilate them.


Also, agree that our path has been the easiest thus far, although I don't think that there is much (if any) difference between Washington, New Mexico and Tennessee.

But, Kentucky is like a buzz saw right now, so that more than balances it out.


The thing that sucks is, if we're not in their bracket, and we go to the Final 4 and lose to them there, I am fine with that. We had an E8 and S16 under Belein, and a S16 in the 90s with Jarrod West hitting threes, but WV hasn't been to a F4 since I've been alive.

Winning the BET, and getting to the F4 would be an awesome season, and I would be very happy about it, even if we lost to UK in the F4.


Now, if we lose to UK I'll be disappointed, and if we DO win, I will be completely crushed with anything less than a title, which is obv still 65-75% chance not going to happen, so it's like a lose/lose.

In my humble opinion, foul trouble is the only thing that keeps Ohio State out of the Final Four. They easily have the most talented starters of anyone on their half of the bracket, and one of the Top 3 coaches. But they rank dead last in all of Division I in terms of minutes off the bench.

Unless they pull a Kansas and beat themselves - which isn't entirely out of the question - I think Ohio State has a relatively easy path to the Final Four, and then to the Championship Game.
