Brutal ending for UC Irvine. Kid has a wide open dunk with 2 seconds left to tie the game for OT, but he bricks against the rim.

Could see San Diego State getting in. Kinda can go any number of ways with the weak bubble.

Great to see Arkansas win. Acuff was awesome. Everyone telling him he’s not at the top of his class and all he does is make plays

Well it was impressive that the three top dogs seemed to be marching to 30-2 and conference championships, but Michigan blinked. Don't trust Michigan, or Zona, or Florida now. Do trust Duke and UConn, and St. Johns. If you start betting those three money line thru the tournament, I wonder how many wins you get before a loss. Realize no money lines mostly on first round games for high seeds.

Long drive yesterday so I had ample time to listen to the post-selection show on ESPN radio. Other than the standard fellating of the SEC they were notably outraged at the raw deal given to Duke, St. Johns and UConn. So you've got company.

Given infinite time to fill I think they could have filled it all listing the reasons why 17-16 Auburbn (with multiple great wins) should have gotten in over 31-1 Miami of No Quality Opponents Ever* Who Is Going To Lose To SMU By 30.

Head of the selection Keith Gill was the perfect choice for that role, as he offered word salad explanations as to how the committee operated and offered great assurance that their principles were followed and bracket integrity secured.

Roll out the ball, let's do this.

* (except wins over two tournament teams in Wright State and Akron).

Is Auburn talented enough to be in the tournament? Sure, but you have to actually win enough games. A good example would be the Lions from this year. I think they were definitely a top 10 NFL team, but ended up losing too many games. They beat the Bears twice, and look how the Bears ended up. The Lions could've easily done the same thing, but you have to make the regular season mean something.

Is Miami any good? No idea. But they aren't being rewarded for their record more than Auburn is being punished for theirs. Miami has to play their way into the actual tournament and will play a real team to do so. If anything, it's one of the few times the first games actually are being used in a way they should be. Bubble teams should be all playing their way in. I mean sure, we could also get rid of the garbage 16 seed teams, but even if they all play in the first round, there are still plenty of compelling games.

I remember years ago when Notre Dame had an incredible amount of great wins for a team that was on the bubble, including I think against a #1 team, maybe even a rout of a #1 team, but also many eggs laid. About a .500 record. The eggs count too. What year was that I was thinking it was during Laphonso Ellis career, but it doesn't seem to pan out. I was thinking the win against a #1 was Duke, but that doesn't seem to pan out either. They missed the tourney, even with the great wins. Just too many under-performances too.

Anyway, the resume isn't just about the upside, even proven huge upside.

I think they are too physical. They get away with a lot in the Big East that they won't get away with in the tournament.

In his defense, he does have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions unless his lawyer is present. He shouldn't have said anything.

Quote:
Authorities found 2.1 pounds of marijuana in Alabama star Aden Holloway's apartment when he was arrested on a felony drug possession charge Monday morning, according to charging documents obtained by ESPN on Tuesday.

The amount discovered in the arrest is significant because any amount of marijuana above 2.2 pounds -- or a kilogram -- in the state of Alabama can result in a drug trafficking charge.

Holloway, who was "removed from campus" and is not with the team days before the NCAA tournament because of the arrest, told police he wanted to exercise his Miranda rights and remain silent during the search of his apartment but then told police "he only smokes."

But if we had a committee to put the best NFL teams in the playoffs, the committee puts in Detroit..
