Anyways, it looks like a proximal tibial fracture. Orthobullets says indications for closed reduction and casting are:

< 5 degrees varus-valgus angulation
< 10 degrees anterior/posterior angulation
> 50% cortical apposition
< 1 cm shortening
< 10 degrees rotational alignment

So that's the criteria they're working with. Basically they're going to pull on his leg under anesthesia and see if they can get it close, then cast it.

He broke the top part of his shin bone. They're going to try to put the pieces of that bone close together and see if it heals.

Dude the break is ****ing clear as day. Like it isn't some mystery where the bone fracture is. It's where the leg bent the wrong way. It's isn't exactly subtle.
