GILDAN NEW MEXICO BOWL
Arizona New Mexico 2:00 PM
(New Mexico is playing their first bowl game in 8 years, against a P5 team, and playing at home. Arizona has lost 4 of 5 and has to go to New Mexico. Who do you think is gonna be more fired up for this one??)

ROYAL PURPLE LAS VEGAS BOWL
BYU #22 Utah 3:30 PM

(Holy War comes early! Scheduled to play again in September, BYU and Utah hate each other. Per twitter, Utah fans are NOT happy about having to play this game, as they've ascended to the ranks of the P5 and look down upon their mormon brethren)

RAYCOM MEDIA CAMELLIA BOWL
Ohio Appalachian State 5:30 PM
(ASU's first bowl game ever and... yeah that's all I got)

San José State Georgia State 7:00 PM
AUTONATION CURE BOWL

R+L CARRIERS NEW ORLEANS BOWL
Arkansas State Louisiana Tech 9:00 PM

Monday, December 21
MIAMI BEACH BOWL
Western Kentucky South Florida 2:30 PM

(Pretty under the radar game here. Western KY beat Vandy en route to an 11-2 record and Sun Belt title, with their only two losses coming at LSU and Indiana, averaging 44 ppg and 7.2 ypg along the way. USF came out of nowhere, winning 7 of their last 8 including wins over Temple, Syracuse, ECU and Cincy. They got real hot at the end, winning their last 3 by an average score of 51-18. Not the sexiest names in the house, but these are two teams playing some good football right now)

Tuesday, December 22
FAMOUS IDAHO POTATO BOWL
Akron Utah State 3:30 PM

MARMOT BOCA RATON BOWL
Temple Toledo 7:00 PM

(It's rare to see a marquee matchup between two non P5 teams that features honest, solid football rather than pinball machine offense and no defense. Between the two of them, these teams own victories over Penn State, Memphis, Arkansas, Cincy, BGSU and Iowa State. Toledo lost their head coach though, which makes this a little less exciting)

Wednesday, December 23
SAN DIEGO COUNTY CREDIT UNION POINSETTIA BOWL
Boise State Northern Illinois 4:30 PM

(Two of the best non P5 teams over the last decade fielded good but not great squads this year. A win here would go a long way towards healing the damage of this season and spring boarding into next)

GODADDY BOWL
Georgia Southern Bowling Green 8:00 PM

Thursday, December 24
POPEYES BAHAMAS BOWL
Middle Tennessee Western Michigan 12:00 PM

HAWAI'I BOWL
San Diego State Cincinnati 8:00 PM

(Rocky Long's squad has won 9 straight en route to the MWC title while Cincinnati essentially alternated wins and losses all season en route to a 7-5 finish, although the prime time win over Miami was the crown jewel)

Saturday, December 26
ST. PETERSBURG BOWL
Connecticut Marshall 11:00 AM

HYUNDAI SUN BOWL
Miami (FL) Washington State 2:00 PM

(After hitting rock bottom in that 58-0 loss to Clemson, Miami finished the season winning 4 of 5 including the Dukie miracle. Lots of excitement about the Richt hiring means this is a big springboard game into next season for them. On the other side, Wazzu started out at rock bottom with a loss to Portland State but then finished 8-3 the rest of the way with impressive road wins over Oregon and UCLA. A solid bowl win over a good team here would really cement a good year for the Cougs, while a loss added on to the Apple Cup slaughter wouldn't feel so nice. Luke Falk should return, I think)

ZAXBY'S HEART OF DALLAS BOWL
Washington Southern Mississippi 2:20 PM

NEW ERA PINSTRIPE BOWL
Indiana Duke 3:30 PM

(Duke's lost 4 of 5 and Indiana 6 of 8, but at least both ended on a win. While this would be more exciting on the hardwood than the turf, Jordan Howard is fun to watch if he's healthy)

CAMPING WORLD INDEPENDENCE BOWL
Tulsa Virginia Tech 5:45 PM

(Fare thee well, Frank beamer)

FOSTER FARMS BOWL
UCLA Nebraska 9:15 PM

(Even though they finished 5-7, Nebraska should serve as a pretty decent test for Josh Rosen and UCLA, who look to finish with at least 9 wins for the fourth consecutive season)

Monday, December 28
MILITARY BOWL PRESENTED BY NORTHROP GRUMMAN
Pittsburgh #21 Navy 2:30 PM 5:00 PM

(KEENAN)

QUICK LANE BOWL
Central Michigan Minnesota

Tuesday, December 29
LOCKHEED MARTIN ARMED FORCES BOWL
Cal Air Force 2:00 PM

(Things don't look great for Cal, playing a non P5 in front of a pro-military crowd with a coach that seems desperate to leave. Tune in anyway, it'll be your last chance to see Jared ****ing Goff before he heads to the pros)

RUSSELL ATHLETIC BOWL
#10 North Carolina #17 Baylor 5:30 PM

(I hear a lot of people saying that this game will only be interesting if Baylor gets one of it's QBs back, but I actually think the opposite. I really want to see what kind of funky **** Briles comes up with with three weeks to prepare. Throw in Ryan Switzer and a prolific UNC offense on the other side of the ball, and we've got ourselves a fun one)

Nevada Colorado State 7:30 PM
NOVA HOME LOANS ARIZONA BOWL
(lol)

ADVOCARE V100 TEXAS BOWL
#20 LSU Texas Tech 9:00 PM

(The best pre-NYE bowl for your money IMO. Leonard Fournette is going to go ****ing HAM against this Texas Tech defense, but the Raiders should be able to sling it around enough to hang around. I think Tech is pretty underrated, they got shredded by the good teams in the Big-12, but pummeled the same Arkansas team who thrashed LSU on the road)

Wednesday, December 30
BIRMINGHAM BOWL
Auburn Memphis 12:00 PM

(Fun fact: If Memphis wins this game, they'll finish the season with the same number of SEC wins as Auburn)

BELK BOWL
NC State Mississippi State 3:30 PM

(Dak Prescott and Jacoby Brissett are two pretty good QBs. NC State hasn't beaten a team in the top-70 though, while Mississippi State at least has one good win)

FRANKLIN AMERICAN MORTGAGE MUSIC CITY BOWL
Texas A&M Louisville 7:00 PM

(I feel like I should have something to say about this game, but I really, really don't)

HOLIDAY BOWL
#25 USC Wisconsin 10:30 PM

(Wisconsin boasts a pretty salty rush defense, so it might be up to Kessler and JUJU to beat them through the air. Wisconsin's passing attack is unlikely to keep pace though, as Joel "yips" Stave finished the season with 10 TDs and 11 picks)

Friday, January 1
OUTBACK BOWL
#13 Northwestern #23 Tennessee 12:00 PM

(Northwestern's best team since that 1995 Darnell Autry team takes on a Tennessee squad whose four losses are probably more impressive than their 8 wins)

BUFFALO WILD WINGS CITRUS BOWL
#14 Michigan #19 Florida 1:00 PM

(Watching this game completely hung over sounds like pure torture. Possibly a good one to put on if you have international friends visiting, as they seemt enjoy sports with 0-0 draws and lots of kicking)

Saturday, January 2

TAXSLAYER BOWL
Penn State Georgia 12:00 PM

(The names on the jerseys are exciting, but the football on the field is not)

AUTOZONE LIBERTY BOWL
Kansas State Arkansas 3:20 PM

(Fat bert vs Wizard Snyder? Yes please. Creative, wacky looking "only in college" plays? Yes please. Pretty much any Arkansas game this year? yes please.)

VALERO ALAMO BOWL
#15 Oregon #11 TCU 6:45 PM

(This game should be pretty awesome. A healthy Vernon Adams vs a healthy Trevone Boykin, and the exact antithesis of UF/Michigan)

MOTEL 6 CACTUS BOWL
West Virginia Arizona State 10:15 PM

(The motel six cactus bowl featuring west virginia and arizona state. If that doesn't sound like meth and bad tattoos, I don't know what does)

Nice post GB. BTW, to all you CFB fans, I wont be able to run a CFB pool thread this year.

Here was the lasts year's

Pwnsall won last year. If anyone else is able to run something similar, go for it. I'll be travelling and not always near reliable internet.

WTF IS THE AUTONATION CURE BOWL
12-08-2015 , 04:03 PM
can't wait to see the GUS BUS derailed by the coachless MEMPHIS TIGERS
12-08-2015 , 04:27 PM
Mizzou refuses bowl invitation. I guess schools shouldn't be forced to play in a bowl game if they really don't want to, but it's kind of scummy to screw your conference over by refusing an invite imo

Do you really think Mizzoi's fans are upset?

I'd guess the school would have to eat a ton of tickets and lose money.

Sucks for the seniors, doubt anyone else really cares
12-08-2015 , 04:40 PM
Maybe, maybe not. I'd want my team in a bowl game no matter what, but maybe I'm in the minority. Seems like the offseason is just way too long and that would be one more opportunity to see them play, plus get work in for the underclassmen, etc
12-08-2015 , 04:41 PM
Also I think that WVU-Arizona State game could be an entertaining matchup
12-08-2015 , 04:49 PM
Lol, San Diego Credit Union, that is too good. You know you're in trouble when your bowl game is sponsored by a non-profit institution.
12-08-2015 , 04:52 PM
You forgot the 1199SEIU Local 768 Bowl

If your team sucks and you had a bad season and have bad chemistry, prolonging that a month without a game while people dick around in practice is pretty bad. It's better to get the season over with and prepare for the next year.

When you only beat 4 division 1 teams, and three of them you win by 1 score and those 3 are Arkansas State, UConn and BYU (7, 3, 4 points) plus a team that lost to Citadel, and you also lose to Vanderbilt and Kentucky, you shouldn't get to go to a bowl.

Every year I see the lines for these bowl games, especially the early ones I just want to take all the favorites. Then I normally do and lose.

I always thought you wanted the extra month to get practice for the younger/red shirting players, and this is actually a big deal with all the rules about limiting practice over the year.

Also the fact UCLA is playing in the foster farm bowl, which is normally a 6-6 barely made it pac vs Big 10 show down, shows how deep the Pac 12 was this year.
12-09-2015 , 10:18 AM
Notre dame is finally going to stop paying Charlie Weis this month lol.

End of an era.

Kansas is still paying him until next year fwiw
12-09-2015 , 12:51 PM
when Memphis wins the BIRMINGHAM BOWL they'll have as many SEC wins as the Barn
12-09-2015 , 12:58 PM
We know. It's in the OP

LOL, indeed
12-10-2015 , 10:10 AM
Lol you if you're not going to watch many of those matchups. It's usually the games that don't look the most attractive on paper in bowl season that are the whackiest and craziest games. Bowl season is great because these teams have nothing to lose and their play reflects it...most games.
12-10-2015 , 01:42 PM
It was not long ago when a fair number of Georgia high school teams could beat Georgia State handily.
12-17-2015 , 07:53 PM
Bump for only a few days til some bowling!!!
12-17-2015 , 07:55 PM
The Las Vegas bowl is the first must see bowl game. Can't wait
