This is funny. Coming into the season he was 28-25 over the last 4 years and I heard a lot of chatter that Tech fans were unhappy about the contract/buyout for CPJ. Was hearing that the buyout and the financial position of GT made it very difficult to fire him if they wanted to.
Perfect timing for a great season for him and he gets extended for 4 more years, through 6 more seasons.
I have no idea if this is a good move or not. Would love some GT posters' feedback. I know this year has been extremely exciting and rewarding, but do you think this is a blip on the radar in between 6-8 win seasons, or is this a start of being the premier team in the Coastal? I am not being a sour grapes UGA guy here, btw. Tech absolutely deserves all of the success they have had this season.
Just seems like a pretty long and perhaps unnecessary extension because of 1 good season in the last 5. Are they really worried he's going to leave for a better opportunity? If it were me, I'd want to see what next year brings before committing to an additional 4 years.
