Just seems "ties to Kansas football program" should not be a net positive, much less a deciding factor.
We will never know if Chad Morris would have taken the job, but he certainly should have been offered. Lots of other options out there with big upsides.
SMU strikes me as a better gig (based on the idea that there's money there to be thrown around, plus it's in Texas where people and talent live) than Kansas.

I think one of the things we'll likely discover is that given Mich's resources you don't have to be great to win there. You just need to not be aggressively incompetent- which is exactly Brady Hoke.
I guess the longer this goes the more likely it is an NFL head coach. If they were going to offer a college dude, it will probably happen by mid-next week.
