The big talk in Oregon the last few years has been how Riley doesn't have the fire or motivation because of his big contract and age. People here hate him. Or loathed the next 5+ years.

What is the appeal of Riley??

Ive never really understood it. He stunk in OSU the first go round, stunk in the NFL and yet got offered the Alabama job. and has had a completely ho hum career at OSU during the second go round there and probably gets a fat paycheck to go to Nebraska.

Had Oregon State beaten either Washington or Oregon to close the season they would have become bowl eligible giving Riley another few years guaranteed. People were actively rooting AGAINST their team to keep that from happening. lolnebraska

for Oregon State.

But like once you've pulled the "Oh this whole moving up to a better job didn't work now I'm going to come back here and coach again" move- I'm not super inclined to give you another shot at a high profile gig.

I said this before - I WANT NEBRASKA TO BE GOOD. But if this is the answer to the feeling that they belong in the top 15 conversation more than they did with Bo then they have to be asking the AD WTF. If this is the best they can do then STFU until you do better than Bo did for you. Funny as hell hire. Certainly doesn't take a good candidate off the market for other schools looking.
