Hearing more locally about Orgeron to Bama.

Al Borges is supposedly a candidate for the OC job

one time!

I mean I have two open positions, and there's people who are technically candidates, but that's just because I haven't read their resume yet.

Hiring Al Borges at this point should be a fireable offense. Especially for a team with a running QB coming back.

People getting mad about how coaches that are not named Bobby Petrino leave their program are really dumb.. Just like in the real world where people are "sick" a week before they accept another job, Franklin can't tell people that he is going to Penn St until everything is finalized. What happens when he tells his player/administrator that he is finalizing the deal then some hiccup comes up and Penn St can't hire him?

Enjoy having a horrible defense, Louisville.

I'm sure bobby Petrino has no idea what he's doing. Makes sense.

BP seems to be having a mental breakdown over the loss of his beloved coach. Stay strong brother.

If we hire the right guy, it could be an upgrade (at least from a playcalling/decided schematic advantage POV). But, ofc, you'd rather stick with what you know works quite well rather than roll the dice.

Have seen some truly laughable suggestions on other boards (Fulmer, either of the Brown bros). But there are some really good possibilities out there. Assuming we don't go full Dooley with the hire, we should come out alright. It's lot more attractive job than it was 3 years ago.

Chad Morris and Derek Mason would be my top picks (Vandy has already requested permission to interview Mason, and Dabo made a veiled reference this weekend to Morris maybe leaving to be a HC).

AU fans were elated when AU hired Van Gorder. After a single season, every AU fan was happy to see him go. Defense at AU was a disgrace under VG, even by AU's admittedly modest recent standards.

Hard to judge any of the assistants on their performance that year, given how Chizik had let things get out of control.

Derek Mason would be a home run hire at Vandy imo. Outstanding recruiter and doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who would jump after 1-2 years for a better job. He's rebuffed a ton of interest in the last couple of years to stay at Stanford. Also, already know how to recruit the nerd type kids and would have less adjusting to do than Morris who has been coaching the elite athletes that Vandy has basically no chance at. Mason would implement an outstanding S&C program and would try to out physical teams.

That sounds like the guy we want, and he's apparently the frontrunner.

George Plaster, who knows Vandy sports as well as anyone, is reporting that the guys being looked at are (in order of preference):

1) Mason
2) Morris
3) Hudspeth
4) Narduzzi

I'd be happy with any of these guys.
