You know even if FSU wins tonight but has two QB's down, they could be left out. I seem to remember some precedent for that. What was it?

There is no precedent. In fact there is strong precedent for the opposite. FSU and ND each had a team that was like ~13th in the power rankings but eked their way to 13-0 with a combination of a long string of luckbox wins and a weak schedule, and both those teams got in and got obliterated

Meh for me because all I'm ever focusing on is the very top few. If there was an expanded field this year, my 4 favorites to win it all would be Georgia, Bama, Texas and LSU. All 4 SEC next year.

The precedent was osu still getting in and winning the NC with a backup.

Yeah we do this every year. Most people forget and think a finesse team like Oregon will make a run and they lose 51-3.

I love how they just asked Rick Neuheusal what Saban was telling Alabama at halftime and let him come up with a few guesses, lol. I know I feel like I have a better understanding of what Nick Saban was doing because of what the guy who’s notably worse than Saban thinks Saban will be doing.

It was totally outrageous they didn't stop and review on that 4th down. Bizarre.

Bama is going to turn them over on this possession and score again.

They weren’t undefeated and Condoleeza Rice thought they would win the NC and she was proven right.

That wasn’t the precedent

If this frosh QB looks like SKOOL and they beat L'ville 59-0 then by all means put FSU in there.

Point being if there is the most extreme of injury situations -- two QB's down -- then any semblance of a close call gets much closer as to how the "new team" will be regarded as to keeping the SEC out. However I realize that the default is heavy for the undefeated goes.

idk if I'd call them a FINESSE team, but 2019 LSU was definitely a pass forward team. They could certainly run it too, but they threw for like 6000 yards or something insane that year including 1000 yards in the 2 playoff games

The precedent is the combination of the most extreme of injury situations and keeping 12-1 SEC Champions out. NOT do undefeated teams tend to get in, lol.

If not for the loss to Bama in that SEC title game a few years ago, in a relatively meaningless spot for Georgia, the Bulldogs would be bidding to tie Oklahoma's all-time record 47 game winning streak in this game tonight. They are 45-1 in last 46.
