Can only hope...lol. What an injury plague season. Hopefully we don't truly suck next year. NCST should be good. Who knows about Duke. Our class next year isn't ridiculous, but the year after should be good.
Marshall's a goner. It's Stilman's team now.

They have the #1 PG coming in, don't they? Hope he's ready from day one I guess. I don't think any of the guys return except maybe McAdoo? If he and Hairston play well next year you'll probably stay in the top 15 area.

Though the whitey show would be amazing.

Lol was just going to say this. I guess krayz doesn't know anyone with aids though so that's cool. Though it does make it easy to tell who may transmit a disease in the future if not finding such a topic insensitive.

Will see. The guy got ridiculously surgery for the chance to come back for this weekend. He is ridiculously beloved here. Of all the guys I can see leaving, I am not sure Marshall will leave. I think the others are bigger question marks.

First of all you are wrong. Stillman is gone for 2 years. It's either Marshall, Strickland or Paige as our starting PG next year. Stillman is a mormon who will be gone for 2 years. The year after we have the current top PG recruit coming in if Paige doesn't work out and Marshall is gone by then. Will see.

Britt isn't the #1 2013 PG

i think henson and barnes are locks to leave, and marshall and mcadoo need to stay. how's the class of 2016 looking?

Pretty funny after all the PG issues you're going out and getting the #1 guy this year and the #2 guy next year according to ESPN.

Stillman is nuts to have chosen the next 2 years for his mission, the only chance he has to even play is in that time frame.

Isn't Marshall projected as a lottery pick? Think the injury kills that or something else? I don't think his stock really goes any higher than it is really. Though there are a ton of huge guys going in this draft if he waits a year he might move up quite a bit.

2016 class (2012 recruiting class) is pretty marginal for UNC.

#3 PG Paige (#29 recruit)
#11 PF Johnson (#48 recruit)
#18 C James
#20 SF Tokoto

2017 class (2013 recruiting class)

#2 Pg (nate Britt)--sorry Steroid for being 1 off although earlier I think he was the #1 pg.
#4 PF (hicks)

Interest from Randle #1 PF, Parker #1 SF, Troy #2 SF....

lawson, felton and now Marshall are 3 of the top PGs in this era and UNC features them a ton. not suprising we get really good PGs since they thrive here and we love to run.

will see what happens next year. If marshall does come back I'll be thrilled. Anyone else would be awesome as well. Marshall is one of my favorite UNC players all time. Lawson, Green, Hansbrough, Jamison and now Marshall (obviously Jordan as well).

i didnt mean to say marshall needs to stay, only mcadoo. i just have a feeling marshall will stay one more year then britt will take over as pg

im pretty sure britt will not be as good as previous unc point guards though

on the one hand i would assume barnes is a lock to declare, but everyone thought he was a lock last year when he would have been a higher pick than he will be. who knows. maybe he plays 1 more year. kinda hoping he does...a lock 1 and done playing 3 full seasons would be fantastic

That's pretty much what happened to Brandon Rush, although injuries played a role in his decisions.

I think barnes is competitive enough to maybe come back one more year to try to prove everyone wrong and become a beloved member of the heels pantheon rather than the near wash out he's perceived as being right now. Not saying he necessarily should, but he's one of those guys who had never failed at anything in his life, and i'm sure this season is not sitting well with him.

Henson will go, although he could benefit from one more year of weights. I'm sure the wrist and able spooked him. Mcadoo will probably stay. Marshall is probably 50-50. if I had to guess, id say he leaves due to projected draft position, but he's also super competitive and loves carolina, so who knows

Early reports indicate as of now that Marshall, Barnes, and Henson are gone and McAdoo is coming back.

I figured SE wouldn't allow "XXXXX IS UNBEATABLE" talk after this much time. UK lost to Vandy, and if you say that it's because they weren't up for the SECCG but will be up for the Final Four + NC then you don't understand WIM. And what's with the past tense? You got a time machine bro? If so, you should definitely bet big Kentucky being > ~56% that the books have them at to win it all.

Sheeeeeeeeeeit.

I like UNC fans debating whether players will stay or not on the basis of their perception of success achieved this season and their standing with the UNC base. It's all quite romantic really.

In reality, your better players will stay or not depending on what an agent type tells them their draft stock could be this year - and whether or not another season with UNC would be likely to higher or lower their NBA potential.

If that were the case then Barnes would have left last year with a stronger class coming in this year. It's really not always that cut and dry. Another instance is Hansbrough's stock didn't really move anywhere from years 1 to 4, yet he stayed.

Yah, it really depends on the kid. I mean a ****ton of lottery type picks stayed for this year so the lottery=gone logic isn't always right.

last yr is a poor example to cite due to the uncertainty from the looming lockout.

It sounds like you don't really understand Carolina bball culture. It's a huge community and players really become invested in the success of the program, and in their standing in the program's tradition, in a way that doesn't exist almost anywhere else I'm aware of. For example, the way NBA players come back over the summer to scrimmage and clinic with guys on the team, Wallace mentoring Henson, etc.

No one is stupid enough to think the prime consideration isn't draft position and money, of course it is. But unlike most places, no, it's not the only consideration.

Not if they see winning a college championship as a checkbox they've failed to fill in. I'm saying that in terms of thinking there's a chance HB comes back, not that I think he's likely to.
