Arizona State and Bobby Hurley legit suck. 4 years in his tenure and no tournament wins.

Arizona State went 8-11 in the worst Power conference ever, had awful metrics, and somehow the committee let them in anyways. Shouldve been a 6 seed in the NIT.

I knew them being ranked #3 was fraudulent, but I still thought they were top 25 caliber when I watched them earlier in the season...oof...

every home team in the NIT first round won

I'm not gonna get used to 4 quarters in college basketball.

Only arizona in the pac is in the 64 team bracket.

Massive change from last year where all the 6s, three of the 7s and an 8 won.

Final four was 4/4/6/8.

I hope to god they don't really go to 4 quarters and no 1 and 1. Just adds more stoppages to the play, more bungled end of period situations and eliminating the 1 and 1 really takes away one hugely interesting aspect of CBB.

teams being in bonus early leads to more stoppages

4 quarters is AWFUL and no 1 and 1 is even worse. wtf are they doing?

if getting rid of 1 and 1 makes just one coach think "we are down too much with too little time left for it to be worth intentionally fouling" when he wouldnt otherwise then its worth it

watching nit games last year I barely even noticed they were gone. quarters are nice in that if you get ****ed over by foul calls in the first few minutes of the second half you arent screwed the rest of the game.

its also fewer clock stoppages since there is only one media timeout per quarter, so its like having one every 5 minutes instead of every 4 minutes. plus there can potentially be 8 fouls not resulting in free throws instead of 6.

Back to UVa's Hunter for a second, he said his wrist hurt like hell after the Clemson game, that he could barely take his shirt off. He had x-rays that were negative, so he got a brace and played against UNC (only went 1-3 FG, but did hit 8 of 10 FT's). It didn't feel any better when they got back to school, so they did an MRI, which showed a hairline fracture.

Here's what Bennett had to say:

“A real slight, slight crack but on his left, and your job as the coach certainly and with these young men is to protect them. And he has such a nice future and I think De’Andre would have tried to play, but long-term that’s not the wise thing. It’s to get this taken care of and do it the right way and give him the best chance for a full recovery, which is certainly what we expect.”

As much as it sucks that he can't play and as much as it hurts UVa's chances for a deep run, that's a good coach and good medical staff.

Kevin Stallings has to be the worst hire ever, blew the team up not once but twice in only a two year period, all at a program that was really good for over a decade before he arrived. Now granted, it’s not like my of those guys transferring are any good, but maybe they could have gone 2-16 next year if they all returned. Simply incredible

the team was well off its peak when dixon left imo. stallings didnt help (at all) but this also wasn't a top tier program the years before he got there. basically a death penalty situation without a death penalty, itll be awhile before they are good again

He's coached AAU, middle school, and high school successfully. Don't know if any former NBA players have been successful in college with no prior college coaching experience.

I would bet he does very well. Memphis supports that program. He knows everyone in Memphis, he is going to get players.

Danny Hurley looking to be the next UConn coach. This is probably the best outcome for us. Talk of having Calhoun come back for a year or two would have been program suicide. We have enough issues with conference/recruiting/academics.

coaching carousel should be fun this year again. Will Mack leave Xavier for Lville?
