The UK lines the last few weeks have been some of the worst basketball lines I've seen in decades of handicapping. They just mowed down the creme de la creme of the SEC, have NBA talent all over the floor, are gelling lately ... and somehow are fashioned as nearly double digit dogs today. They are way better than all the SEC teams right now. 8 point dog. 5 point dog at Miss. State. I'm astonished that Vegas didn't get hip or even get a clue to how good they are right now, as they most always do when a team is way better than their earlier iteration, especially when it is a brand team in the limelight.

What? First off, are you complaining about Vegas setting bad lines? If so, you should be exploiting that, be happy, and be making mad cheddar yo.

2nd off, UK is 8-9 ATS in their last 17 games going back to Texas A&M on Jan 13th. What's exploitable about that?

Granted, they are 18-13 overall, but that is mostly due to a 6 game winning streak ATS from Dec 9th thru Jan 9th. Not very recent.

Ooh I looked at one line wrong for sure ... the recent Vandy game. Was traveling that day and thought I saw after the fact that they had been 9 and just shook my head that I was shut out on the game. Instead they were 19 and didn't cover. That was part of my bit. So instead of 6-2 last 8 just 5-3. The larger point stands that they just mowed down the SEC elite, two on the road and one demolition at home. Leading to the question: should they have been 5 pt. dogs at Miss. State and 8 pt. dogs today ... or was there incredible value in both spots? UK is the best team in the conference and getting 8. I had them pick'em with UT today and of course I slaughtered both those games + the points and outright.

Meanwhile UK just covered by 12, 20 and 20 against now first place SEC teams. Giving them 8 (twice recently) is bizarre it seems to me. Failed to cover by 2 twice. They are way outperforming the line right now it also seems.

I'm talking about the lines on the UK games, not who is going to win the title. I figured that highly unwarranted leap was coming. The fact of UK getting 8 points in games right now is one of the most bizarre things in the history of the sport, but is not to be conflated with great prospects to win it all. I've been in the Calipari win's one title only camp for decades. In the undefeated 38-0 season in the Final Four, same thing from me. They ain't winning it and everybody in the Tampa Hard Rock just shook their head at the "anti-Kentucky guy." LOL. So you've got some kind of Sklansky bucks value in taking them to title, but it ain't cashing in my book. I hope he fools me in a way. I took them at 12/1 to make the Elite 8 when they had lost 3 straight at Rupp, and everybody panicking and giving up onthem. You know, with the NBA players all over the court and up and down the bench. The further Calipari goes, the more he starts to, well, pull up.
