He has a very polarized clutch range, took down Louisville singlehandedly last year, but then this plus the worlds most egregious lane violation on a made front end of a 1and1 to cost us a shot at going to overtime in the tournament two years ago.

for some reason i thought ND was the one who blew the regulation lead. guess he abides by NFL Blitz rules in clutch situations where the losing team always comes back.

So why is Amardi the first man off the bench? Is Altman really so set on having a "center" on the floor, at the expense of just playing our best players?

(Amardi can post the occasional highlight though, I'll give him that)

i'm not too fond with him favoring amardi over cook

joseph young is the best ever finisher when there's not sick length at the rim. combine that w/ elite shooting and he's quite the weapon

oregon running bad that carlino only has attempted 2 shots. byu is a lot worse when carlino is cancering for them. hopefully he decides its time to get HIS soon.

edit- of course amardi goaltends a shot that's possibly about to fall off the rim. what a tard.

“@GottliebShow: Things worse than Garrick Sherman’s beard …go” your ability to stay eligible at Notre Dame

Garrick Sherman ‏@gsherm11 5m
@GottliebShow very well done Doug. Your maturity and class never fails to shine through… got any credit cards I can borrow?

@GottliebShow I have no love for you or respect for you. You’re biased and ignorant. Stay outta my mentions

sherman is def mad

matt carlino is so lol. up 2 with 1:07 left carlino gets swatted with 30 secs left on the shot clock and then MOSER ties it on the other end. he's been cancering ever since i requested him to even though he's running good on 3's.

lol elgin cook missing two free throws when one wins. i'm not too upset since i have oregon -6.5 and -7.5 and those have LIFE now.

To be fair, it is a pretty spectacularly awful beard

i swear matt carlino is actually ******ed. down 4 with 2.4 secs shooting the 2nd FT, he misses on purpose and gets the rebound and tries to sprint back and shoot a 3 before the buzzer. of course byu is drawing really slim if he makes it but you can score 3 pts in 2.4 secs, you can't score 4.

Marcus Smart quickly dropping out of the Wooden award race. I don't expect him to finish the season averaging 20ppg but his decision making has regressed and he hasn't filled up the stat line over the last few games.

no

he went on the hottest heater of all time. of course he was due for a downswing at some point. he's still ballin and his team is still playing as well as anybody in the nation. and it's weird that you'd say that as he's in the midst of a solid game with his team playing well

and his only bad game was vs memphis the 2nd time when he was puking during timeouts. he has quiet games when oklahoma state wins by 30 bc he doesn't gaf about stats and is trying to get his teammates confident. he's a clear top 3 player

He's been taking some seriously erratic shots over the last 4 games instead of making the obvious passes. He's having a decent game for having gotten in early foul trouble. Still, decision making is his greatest strength. And his regression at the free throw line this season is a head-scratcher.

I do hope he settles in better once conference play begins and they start playing more regularly. A win @ Kansas State would be a good first conference win.

past 3 games he shot 6/8 from 2 and 4/13 from 3 and his team won those games by 27, 15, 32, doesn't sound like the consequences have been dire. he's so good he can occasionally chuck bad shots and still be ++EV.

him/his team have had exactly one bad game and he was puking during it so if you wanna pretend he's not elite bc of it go wild being wrong.

Fair point. I guess I'm just still sour on the second half of those Butler and Purdue games and they're clouding my thinking. Plus the whole Memphis game but yeah, he was clearly very ill in that one.

fwiw i get what you're saying that he has flaws wrt shot selection/decision making and you're right about that but the bottom line is that he still carries a huge usage at medium efficiency and is a stud on defense and his team owns when he plays

Of course he's elite. I'm the biggest Marcus Smart fan in the world. I just don't want to see him slip up and lose ground to the freshmen.

embiid won't play enough mins due to fouls, so it's gonna come down to parker vs smart. and i think oklahoma state will be higher rated than duke at the end of the year so that'll help smart.

maybe randle will bully bad teams enough to hang in there but meh. he's so clearly not as good as parker/smart.

Depending on how much they rape conference play there will be strong arguments for Russ Smith and Doug McDermott.
