He's decent. Problem is the committee is human and rotates. They sometimes select weirdly. BM has him as above average, which is really all you can do.

they'll probably get a 3 seed and bounced in the first round, don't worry

I have to admit that while I think nebrasketball is in and should be in I am intrigued at the possible meltdown from schu if they get left out.

care to wager on this? SDSU is built to not get upset. We've only been upset 3 times this year.

well what kind of odds are you going to give me on being bounced in the first

i'm obviously being somewhat hyperbolic, i doubt a 3 seed has ever been a dog to a 14 seed

if you think they won't get upset you should make the bet if you think they are >50% to beat a random 6/11 seed

getting a 3 as opposed to a 4 for SDSU impacts that bet in a big way I'd say.

There's a small but significant difference in playing a 14 and a 6 and playing a 13 and a 5.

Especially because 14 is where you start see to a big drop off (imo) with lots of auto qualifiers who either suck or mostly suck. 13 seeds still have some of that but also some lurking bubble teams that can be dangerous, because around 13 is usually where the bubble hits. There's a difference in playing a team that was on the bubble and an auto qualifier well below the bubble.

K.J. McDaniels, Jr. Clemson (46) 199

Second Team

Honorable Mention
(10 points or more)

Akil Mitchell, Sr., Virginia 17
Jerami Grant,So. Syracuse 15
Ryan Anderson, Jr., Boston College 10

Nothing too crazy here. Some lols for McDaniels not getting more first team votes. Thought it was pretty obvious that Parker, Warren, and McDaniels should have been unanimous. I would've gone with Brogdon (homer bias admitted) over Fair, but I felt that after Parker, McDaniels, Paige, and Warren, arguments could be made for Fair, Brogdon, Patterson, and Hood for first team, so it wasn't some huge injustice.

Interesting that Harris got one vote for first team. Shows that someone was looking at things other than his drop in scoring, but I wouldn't have put him on first team. Would've liked to see Akil Mitchell make at least third team, but there are a lot of good players on the list (I admittedly don't know much about Rion Brown and didn't see Hanlan play this season).

The Ocean has it very right and you don't even factor in the 4/5's should be pretty close. If I knew SDSU was ghana be a 3 as they deserve right now, I'd take it (despite your analysis that they'll lose first round) but taking a 4 to S16 at even is just not smart.

probably should have said 'non tourney teams'

same idea though, losing games you shouldn't lose. when you're 16-1 in conference you shouldn't lose to non tourney teams. You win the ACC, congrats, now you're stuck with very high standards.

And duke should almost never lose to wake barring tim duncan mysteriously gaining eligibility agian.

So, have any of the duke people (or anyone) heard any word about whether or not Rodney Hood is leaving this year? It's almost certainly smart for him to come out, but I can see K talking him into staying with something like

Quote:
this year is too loaded in the draft, you might slide into the 20s or lower, next year you'll get to be the primary scorer and put up $TATS and you'll go even higher
I have no idea at all what his stay/go percentage is, I've just been assuming he goes. Any ideas?

He's projected to go 9thish and don't rookies get screwed on a pay regardless?

Always better to come out early than wait imo. Also if you end up being awesome you get to new contracts quicker.
