KU is doing a Memphis imo. Team of talented younger guys adjusting to losing the stud scorers on their team. They're pretty good now. They have had some road follies against good teams though, and part of me expects a breakdown with any lead on the road. They held off OU on the road, but even then blew a mammoth lead late. At home I definitely think they're a top 10 team right now.

Totally agree. The SEC is easily the worst major conference this year, it's not even particularly close. LSU is winning, but they aren't ever blowing out the better SEC teams (which are mediocre teams in the grand scheme of the league). Sort of the same issue OU was having. Winning, but not waffle-crushing mediocre teams like the top teams do.

why would you chant overrated to a team that already beat you this year, what does that make you

KU is 15 MU is 8. KU wins by 25 at home and loses by 2 on road. I would think of the two teams MU is overrated but what do I know

assuming seeds hold true and OU would win in OKC at least, its a shame we cant see MU-KU in a neutral setting

although im disappointed, i cant say im suprised by the KU MU game..Mu and Lousvile are the most inconsistent teams in the top 10 and i always kind of felt MU is overrated and KU is underrated...the computers might like missouri but idk they dont really pass the eye test for me..and i think KU is really good tbh ( before hte game i posted that i thought they would win more often on a neutral court)...although between the eggs layed by MU in their nationally televised games vs illinois and this vs KU there might be some value in the tourney on them at least

sorry i wasnt at the computer while watching the game whoever was wondering where i was at lol...god forbid

idk..smarter people than me seem to like missouri for some reason (efficient i guess) but i still think they get overrated cuz so many journalists are MU journalism school grads..football and basketball

I'm really liking how KU is starting shape and come together, I think they can do something come tournament time, although I might be the biggest homer in SE other than that Butler clown. If they win out, which I think they will, going 15-1 in conference, all things considered, is something amazing.

Do they have the #2 seed locked up and now possibly aiming for #1 seed if they win the Big12 tourney?

memphis, louisville, and MSU havent slipped this week either. Kansas is likely behind at least 2 of those if one of the #1 seeds slip up.

i was thinking of replacing OU straight up if KU was somehow able to beat them in the Big12 tourney, but thats getting a little ahead of everything.

this replacing u speak of doesnt exist. we compare resumes with the other teams in line for a #1 seed. obviously a win vs. oklahoma and a reg season and conference donkament title both help, but everything is taken in comparison of what everyone else has done.

given that there resumes are behind the other #2 seeds at this point, winning out alone is not enough to guarantee a #1 seed.

There is absolutely no way Kansas gets a 1 seed.

odds are low but definitely significant. depends on how many of the top liners fall(definitely more than 1 is possible given the schedules of the remaining teams, Pittsburgh and UConn H2H + whoever the loser faces in the 3rd round of the BE tournament, Missouri vs. Oklahoma likely twice) that play and whether the committee thinks of B12 titles as compared to the CUSA titles(Memphis is roughly a ~68% favorite to run the table from here on out)/going deep in the BE(Louisivlle).

Kansas definitely has to run above expectation to snatch away a #1, but the remaining schedule/b12 donkament is very favorable(having the #1 seed in the big 12 donkament given it being a 3 team race is the nuts). If you assumed Kansas faced the best team possible in the B12 donkament, their odds of running the table the rest of the way is ~22%. To talk about it as if it were a zero-odds situation is highly inaccurate.

ok, that's encouraging. So they have a 22% of winning out, which is what they have to do to even be considered for #1, but even then, it's up to the committee. Memphis will most likely win CUSA, so KU's chance at being a 1 seed <10%? <5%?

Memphis will win out, UNC and UCONN are locks I think. Just need every other team to **** up including MSU, I can't see KU getting the nod over them after the soul crushing MSU handed KU

I would agree I like UConn and UNC's chances for #1. If everything below happens, maybe they get a 1?

-Kansas would have to win the B12 (obv)
-Mich St would have to lose early in the B11
-UNC would have to win the ACC
-Memphis would have to lose
-UConn would have to win the Big East

Even if all that happens and Kansas still takes care of business, I would say they have a legit chance at a 2 seed. And there isn't that much difference between a 1 and a 2.

It's going to be real hard to remove UConn/Pitt/UNC

UConn is probably less of a lock than Pitt looking forward. UConn has to play at Pitt next week. They will be dogs that game, by several points. If they lose, you'll have two dominating BE teams with 3 losses, one of which beat the other twice. Pitt should get the nod in the S-Curve over them. Assuming they both make decent runs in their tournament, they're both probably still #1s. If UConn loses to Pitt AND their first tourny game to random crappy BE team, that + Dyson injury provides some justification to knock them back to #2.

UNC could be ousted by losing to Duke at home, and then losing to VT/Maryland/Whoever in their first game in the tournament. Not likely. But if that miracle happens you'll have a team with five losses, including three in their last six. MSU, Memphis, Kansas could overcome that with tournament wins. But then if Duke beats UNC in the last game of the regular season, and wins the ACC tournament, they're back in the #1 seed picture and might leapfrog some people.

It's a cluster****. Random ass guess says it's <5% for Kansas, being probably the 7th team in line right now. 20% is about accurate for Kansas running the table, and it's probably <25% that the stars align and several big guys fall to poor teams early in their tournaments.
