I'm going to make a massive thread to organize all of these.

What is This?

This is another form of gambling, but you have a roughly 1/4 shot to win instead of the astronomical chances you have in every bracket pool. This is a place where you and 3 other people come together to draft the NCAA Bracket one team at a time. Each of the 4 players will end up with 16 teams each.

How does it work?

You get 4 people together to agree on a buyin, a time to draft, and the draft order is randomized. The format is a standard snake draft, ABCDDBCA... Once one player drafts a team, they are prevented from drafting another team from that same seed line. So if the first team takes Belmont with their first pick, they are unable to draft North Dakota State with their second pick. At the end, each of the 4 players has a squad of 16 teams, one from each seed. Once the 3rd team from a seed line is drafted, the 4th team is automatically assigned to the player missing a team from that seed line, they are not forced to burn a draft pick to take that team.

Scoring is typically 1 point per win by each of your teams, but introducing scoring variants is also welcome. My pools will be one point per win, which I think will work better in a year like this with one team having so much of the title equity, but I'm open to suggestions.

Because often organization is the toughest thing to pin down on these things, I'd say format your interest like this.

<Buyin levels you would be interested in>

<Times you would be available to draft>

Find 3 people with similar buyin level and time to draft, and get to it.

As always, I am not responsible for handling any funds. If you have any questions about the ability of one of the members to pay up, either look for a trustworthy escrow, or choose a different player that you think has a lesser chance to welch on a loss.

There is such a massive advantage to picking first this year that I think it should be something like ABCD-DCBA-BCDA-DCBA-BCDA... or you should get a -1 if you have Kentucky and they lose and a +1 if your team beats Kentucky before the F4.

At one point per win I don't think whoever gets Kentucky has a massive edge automatically. There's def an edge there so I'd be open to scoring ideas that soften that.

Maybe not giving them a point for their win vs. the 16 seed would be enough and very straightforward (ie. 5 points max and will get 1 point less than other 1 seeds for getting to the same round).

I'm in for 50-100-200 levels.

They are playing all the games right? I missed where they automatically gave the title to Kentucky.

I'd prefer PayPal. Willing to hold money if we want to do this, but I'm fine with just everyone paying money at the end if others are okay with that.

I can do whatever in terms of drafting.

Yeah Id prefer to just wait. We are all regs and nobody's stiffing somebody out of $50.

I'll send whenever but I send right from my bank so it doesn't clear for a couple days obviously not stiffing anyone. Are we drafting only
One from each seed?
Or as many as we can?

Going to the gym I'll be available to draft anytime after I get back. We'll need a few minutes to research

I've done about 50 of these in the past with diff scoring systems and I think 2-3-5-7-11-16 is best, it preserves sweats for longer. With 1 point each first rounds are epic fun but many are often drawing dead by the elite 8.

Would also be down for some sort of minor auto penalty for whoever draft kentucky (skip your second pick?)

But I'm down for whatever
