i only do thang telling, thang listening isn't in my skill set.

i suppose hinrich is likely as bad and i get the deanglow snipe as a bonus. so it worked out okay.

first hollinger sez:

Quote:
Combo guard who plays better as a 2. Has lost athleticism and burst.
So not only is Hinrich washed up and horrible, he will be playing the position where he is less effective. He was terrible last year, posting a measly 51.1% TS on 13.9 usg. He did very little playmaking with a 16.3% assist rate. Now with the Rose-less Bulls he's trying to shoulder a larger role and it has been an unmitigated disaster. He bumped his usage up to 15.9% and assist rate to 35.0% and his TOV rate rose to an astronomical 24.9% and his TS plummeted to 36.1%. The glorious part is that he'll need to play an even larger role in my offense, he will likely average 8 TOV's a game and have a TS of like 29% on 20 usg. Simply put he is not capabale of doing anything offensively other than brick wide open shots.

And of course because he's old and slow he'll get absolutely torched by the Greivis and Augustins of the world.

And he's so bad that Thibs uses Nate Rob over him in the 4th quarter

PG- Hinrich
Wang- Rivers
Big- Kwame

Honestly my team is just as offensively inept as any others w/o any additional strengths and everybody is currently starting and playing this year. Except for Rivers, who was so unbelievably bad that he was benched for Roger Mason, but he's still getting rotation burn. I got some great balance going on here.

Why do I get the feeling that this format will favor raja bell and keith bogans?

we can remove my team from "winning" contention. I really don't care about that.

*Noze is being skipped**. I have Dean's picks. He takes:

Mr Ken Griffey Jr. baseball head.

I'm sure he'll do a solid writeup when he wakes up. It's on me.

Team BobboFail selects:

In the beginning half of the lockout shortened season last year, the Boston Celtics were trotting out a starting lineup of KG-JON. Through 25 games, Jermaine started 24 of them.

At that point, Danny Ainge (and the Cs) collectively felt it was in the best interest to shut JON down for the year.

In a related story, they were playing .500 ball entering the all star break. They finished the season on an amazing upswing, however, with a 2nd half win pct north of .750 ball, finishing @ a collective .670 pace.

Jermaine has actually started this season pretty well - perhaps Suns' trainers, perhaps a new environment, or more likely, just running good to start the year. However, we have a solid track record of a 34 yr old who has, in every way, shape, and form, mailed it in.

Never one for efficiency, Jermaine dropped to new lows as he posted back to back 9.2 and 9.4 PERs; it appears he lost any desire to rebound. He also misses more games than most NBA players - the previous 2 years he combined for fewer than 50 games (out of nearly 150).

So, I get an aging, injury prone JON, who likely will be disinterested, and by virtue of that, will refuse to rebound or play near the post. Instead, he'll shoot the sporadic turn around jumper, laze back on defense, and cite the fact that he ONCE won a DPOY means he's immune to criticism.

Team Bobbofail:
PG -
W - Raja Bell
W - Keith Bogans
B - Jermaine O'Neal
B -

I'm building an old team of has-beens, effectively. Players who at one point were known for their defense while being positive role players, this team will be carved up offensively with no true threats, and defensively are a far cry from what they once possessed. Further, with double cancers in Raja and Jermaine, I anticipate loads of in-fighting as the season wears on.

I need an impartial member of this draft to make a ruling on positional eligibility.

JON is a bad pick. He's doing work for ALVIN now that he no longer has to deal with whiny, raspy-voiced DOC.

Still need someone to weigh in. Either way, it's been over an hour; Ray Horton has been skipped.

For my 2nd big, I'm taking:

Mozgov's greatest achievement, thus far, has been two-fold:

1. Mozgoving a Pizza (yes, it's a verb)

Mozgov, before games, eats an entire pie of pizza. Us mere mortals tend to take 8 or 10 bites for a slice. Mozgov? Just two.

2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwx9HiM4Aw0

You can also "Get Mozgoffed". It's analogous with being posterized. It's best when the off-arm cradles the head, as though the dunker is getting head, in addition to throwing it down.

I don't think JaVale McGee is so terrible he deserved the #3 billing - but the greatest indictments of Mozgov's suckitude is that he is now buried behind McGee on the Denver depth chart.

Mozgov is now 26, and at the point in his career where he isn't so much "potential" as he just is what he is. He started 35 of 44 games last season for the Nuggets, and pretty much has continued to do what he does: Finish at an OK clip, coupled with loads of turnovers, while not chipping in much rebounding. He has no range, no creation, he is one of the worst passers in the league, cannot dribble, and also sports one of the highest foul rates in the game. (He is one of the leaders in illegal screens and offensive 3 seconds in the paint)

With a career PER of 12.2 (12.6 this year!) I can't believe I've neglected mentioning his defense... Because that's negative, too. The Nuggets have consistently performed better whenever he's off the court - whether it's Faried, McGee, Kosta, or even playing small with Brewer, Chandler, or even Miller on the floor. As noted, he fouls constantly, he doesn't rebound that well, he's slow, and basically is just a big wide body who probably would have had more success playing European Hand Ball.

Team Bobbofail:
PG - ?
W - Raja Bell
W - Keith Bogans
B - Jermaine O'Neal
B - Timofey Mozgov

My team has 2 stiff-ish bigs, neither of whom spaces the floor or rebounds well, in addition to two non-floor spacing wings who can't dribble or pass. Defensively, I have two bigs who contest shots but wont rebound, they foul a lot, and my wings will get burnt constantly. :Thumb:

Dominic McGuire, SF

What a bad player. I'll write up fully later, 15.5% TOV at 8.9 USG this year!! Career 19% TOV at 11 USG!!!

Deanglow is taking Damion James, who started 7 of 7 games for New Jersey last year. He owes 2 writeups.

The JON pick seems bad just based on the last 7 games he's had. He surely sucks but still some guys out there who probably are not capable of having a stretch of games like that at their absolute best.

Mozgov is a nice pick. He's pathetic. Lol at the people who acted like the Knicks got robbed because they had to give him up in the Melo deal.

I really wanted to pair McGuire with Ebanks as my second wing. Think my team would have been unloseable with Ebanks/McGuire/Perk/Przybilla.

Jon will revert to form quickly. He's had 128 minutes of quality ball; it's nearly completely tied to the fact he's shooting 20% better on 2pters and FTs.

Omri Casspi.

He's running hot from the floor this year, but sports a nearly 7:1 ast/tov ratio, can't defend anything and won't be playing with Kyrie here!

PG Brandon Knight
W Omri Casspi
W Dominic McGuire
B James Johnson
B

My team will have more turnovers than made baskets. In this league.
