Except Timmy has been bad from 15-20 feet which was his bread and butter shot this year. His jumper seems the most affected by rust.

Yea Manu made one crazy 3 in game 1 and one near the end of the clock last night.

Otherwise, they've all been wide open looks.

The Spurs have been exceptional at timely, momentum stopping or momentum changing shots. They're also getting a pretty nice assist from the refs.

Agreed, most of the wide open stuff should be made, as good as those shooters are.

wrt to shooting , yea their running hot . but the spurs are getting wide open shots w/o pressure , this has to factor in high fg rate

example

edit// my pony to slow . but these are good examples of the shots the spurs are getting .

wtf assist from the refs? They almost single handily let OKC back in the game by calling the end of 3rd beginning of 4th completely different from the first 6.75 quarters of the series.

probably perkins to for that matter.

Thunder can't play with only 7, Spurs tempo too much, even for the sub-25 year old superstars.

A recurring theme itt seems to be "the Spurs are running hot on their perimeter shots and it can't go on forever". If by forever you mean they won't be able to shoot like this when they're 60 years old I'd agree but they've been shooting this way all season. There's no reason to believe it's suddenly going to stop now.

Remember the Mavs last year? Many doubted their ability to keep draining 3's but their shooting remained consistent all through the playoffs. It felt like every time they needed a big shot Stevenson, Terry, Kidd or Dirk would knock one down and that's what SA is doing this year.

OKC has played closer to their max potential than SAS has, Spurs are just scary good.

This is true. Fish would be fine if he came in purely as a PG when Westbrook was off the floor, so like 6-8 minutes a game. Make sure Durant is not resting at the same time, and tell Fish to use his "veteran leadership" to make sure Durant gets force feed the ball during that time then go stand in the corner in case a kick out comes. Flip Perks minutes with Collison, 9 to 25 instead of the other way around.

Big shots Spurs have needed...?

Can remember 3 situations where things were hairy

-Game 4 vs Utah, steal+Manu lay-up late in 4th
-Game 4 vs LAC, Danny Green corner 3 to tie in w/ like 2min left
-Last night Manu hits 3 with ~90sec left and Spurs "only" up 7

Thabo needs more run, that's for sure. I feel like Brooks will back into this realization since small-ball seems to be their only chance at competing.

Took him 7 quarters, but he finally figured out 4/5ths of the line-up that gives him the best chance to win. Dunno, mebbe another half a game before he realizes Sefolosha>>>Fisher for that 5th spot?

How is this hard to understand? Miami plays a lot of bad (ie. "Fishers") players. It's somewhat unavoidable.

To say "they don't have a fisher" makes it sound like they're solid, from top to bottom.

... Which couldn't be further from the truth.

I know that's a more consistently makeable shot, but several of them were contested, and there's no way he can shoot anywhere near that well consistently.
Uh, yeah, Parker hit 2 or 3 tough shot.

But can you actually say, with a straight face, OKC's quality of shot was > SAS?

From my perspective it looked like the Spurs got exactly what they wanted on nearly every possession. When they didn't, Parker bailed them out.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think OKC is playing poorly or getting bad looks. It's that the Spurs are just getting better looks.
