was hoping manu would fall further, i knew i would get sniped by the time it got back to me.

gervin wasn't that amazing in this era that you get him in.

With our 2nd pick, team McLovin/Deanglow selects

Spoiler:
21.5/23.7 PER last year/this year

Spoiler:
26.2 USG%, 9 TOV% (!), 39MPG, missed 6 games last 4 seasons

Spoiler:

LaMarcus Aldridge is in his 6th year and just entering his prime. He's improved to the point where it's safe to put him on the Bosh/Pau/Love tier of power forwards.

His post-up game, mid-range game, clean-up game, and most importantly, alley-oop game is mad real. With Wade being an elite slasher/passer this offense is looking mighty fine.

If it wasn't for injuries to undraftable injury-plagued SG and C, LMA would be competing for a ship every year. He's hungry, and he is prime for the big time. Wade would surely recognize that in LMA, and having reached success at success himself, would help push LMA over the top.

We here at The Cure for Waids, feel like this is not only a stellar pairing of stars, but a natural one as well.

His defense is great, but not elite. His DRtg has climbed from 107 to 99 and DWS from 3.5 to 4.4 (adjusted for a full season). But lol defensive stats, watch here as he gets a clean block (man2man, not help, as Aldridge is a man) on the best scorer in the league and top 18 pick in the NBA Modern Era Draft on 2p2.

If you were doubting Aldridge before, here is a dunk against a top 3 defender in the league, future steal of the draft, and defensive ace if you are playing a card game where ace is the lowest and King is the highest:

Team Cure for Waids
SG - Dwyane Wade
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge

***Grunching***

Thoughts from pg 1:
-MJ #1 fine ofc
-Shaq #2 fine, wouldn't have been surprised if he went #1 (positional scarcity/team-build arguments) or #3
-LBJ at #3 is fine, wouldn't have blinked if he went #1 or #2
-maulaga seems to have no idea what he is talking about
-Top 3 were pretty clear, but I didn't know who #4 would be off the top of my head. Hakeem is a great choice, though.

Would Duncan at 4 be spew?

I'm a newb, so I'm not familiar with the arguments making Hakeem >> Duncan.

It's not so much that you took AI, it's just where you took him and to an even greater extent who you matched him with.

Most unselfish PG OAT with potentially most selfish SG of all time? Cmonson

why do you think AI is good?

in this his most valuable assets are not that valuable. he is good at scoring and shooting a ton, 2 things that aren't ideal in this league. he isn't great at defending 2s. he is also a mental case. not sure what years you are taking for him but his best years including his MVP year his TS% was 51.8% which is terrible especially for this league. you could have had a list of players who was better than him especially with STockton as your pg. kemp, moncrief, gasol, hell anyone but Johnson is better than AI. AI just isn't a great player especially in this. with a team that is constructed correctly, he can work. in this he is a midget chucker.

In an era of elite C's, he schooled them all.

Thats why my mutumbo pick is so good, he will shut down all the elite centers in the league which is really valuable.

i don't think shut down is the right phrase, probably slow down is better phrase describing what he did.

Ya i know, this is from another write up from a different draft.

Hakeem's #s vs Mutombo

22.6PPG / .49 FG% / 10.6RPG / 3.3 TO

Shaq's #s vs. Mutombo

21.5PPG / .523 FG% / 12.3RPG / 3.0 TO

David Robinson's #s vs. Mutombo

22.7 PPG / .497 FG% / 10.7 RPG / 1.9 TO

Alonzo's #s vs. Mutombo

16.4PPG / .498 FG% / 8.6RPG / 3.0 TO

Ewing's #s vs. Mutombo

17.2PPG / .451 FG% / 8.2 RPG / 2.0 TO

So against Mutombo, all of these centers performed a decent amount below their expectation in efficiency and volume. It gets more interesting when you look at H2H amongst these greats when Mutombo is not involved. What you'll find is that most of these centers performed about the same when matched up against each other.
