Lou Will was sweet, Bogi finally got his shot going, Huerter/Gallo good too - Hawks by 13 at half - Bucks start coming back some - Giannis hyperextended knee 5 minutes into the 3rd - Hawks roll from there

After watching the Bucks completely fold after Giannis got hurt, it has dawned on me that Bud is basically a white Doc Rivers

I've just watched the Giannis play.

karma is a *****.

Slid under yet another player - finally didn't put the player out long term and hurt himself.

Couldn't be more stoked.

KP & Kyrie, amongst many others, are sending regards and hope for a slow recovery.

Huge win. Great job by Nate setting the D in first half and just giving jump shots/building a wall.

Cam looked good too, and I have been way more skeptical of him than other Hawks fans. He struggles getting over screens a touch though. Okongwu is just an absolute force for a rookie.

Capela may be in a mask next game. I bet he broke a facial bone on that elbow. No reason for him to be in there either.

So Giannis is dead right?

I mean, Bucks have no depth whatsoever even with him. Seems ugly for them.

Jrue/Middleton 2 best players in the series still I guess if Trae is also done

Yes, Hawks are deeper but like you said Jrue and Middleton are top 2. 3 game series, anything can happen. If both Trae and Giannis are out, and even if a hurt Trae comes back, it's actually a pretty interesting series albeit not a super high level one.

It's like a miniature version of a healthy Lakers series vs Suns. Lakers have top 2 guys who can win the game by themselves vs a team that has the next ~5 best players.

I think if I am drafting for rest of series, I would prob go

Middleton
Jrue
Bogi (who looks healthy-ish now)
Collins
Huerter
Capela
Lopez
Gallo
Okongwu
Tucker
Reddish
LouWill
Connaughton
Portis

Interestingly, Okongwu value may go down a tad with Giannis injury. He has looked extremely good guarding Giannis but is not strong enough yet for a primary on Lopez imo. Capela value goes way up if he doesn't have a broken face though. But those top two Bucks guys can win a game by themselves and they only need 2.

I can't see how Giannis didn't tear at least one ligament there. It wasn't just going backwards, it looked like it went off to the side too. Both these teams are full of likable players who have really taken their time at honing their strengths and shoring up their weaknesses.

Wonder how much injuries would be reduced if players would simply play following the spirit of the game, and not trying to draw fouls, flopping, etc.

Not much at all probably? The easiest one is to ban the help charge which is dangerous to the player taking off. But the latest injuries have been completely unrelated and a lot of injuries seem to come from someone actually playing defense not the other way around (Giannis trying to block the alley oop, landing under a shooter's foot, etc.).

That seems way low for Lou Will, who was the best player on the court tonight. It wasn't that long ago he was the best offensive player on a solid Clippers team. Which shouldn't mean much for the conference finals, but this isn't conference finals level rosters at this point.

Lou value should go up with Giannis injury too, Giannis injury could have same effect on bucks D that AD had on LAL's

You are probably right. He should be with Gallo probably. I don't think I can put him above that though. The top 4 Hawks are just super important (first 3 for scoring, etc.; Huerter to guard Jrue/Middleton; Collins for REB; Capela for REB, screens, oops).

I think Reddish's value goes up a lot too, since his D on Middleton really opens a lot for the Hawks especially if he's playing on O like he did tonight. And with Giannis out, D on Middleton is the single most important assignment on both sides, so he will get more burn even with his mins restriction. Maybe he should move up above Gallo as well.

Having 6'7" Huerter to throw on Jrue with Capela backing him up and Reddish on Middleton is a really good answer to any potential spurts from them. Capela's value from rebounding goes up massively too of course even with a mask on, since he will be able to hang around the rim a lot more instead of focusing on Giannis. I guess I am talking myself in to the Hawks should definitely be decently favored in the event of Giannis and Trae being out for the series.

Yeah, I mean easy to say after he smashed tonight but Lou was a top 30-40 offensive player in the league in his Lou Will role as recently as last season. The Clipps just didn't really need him anymore given they had George/Leonard and needed 2way guys around them.

I'm not sure he is still that player, but he isn't far removed from it and I'm not sure how good Milwaukee can be defensively without Giannis.

Who is gonna play more? His brother? Portis is a big dropoff on that end.

Yeah, what about Kawhi getting 2 cheap shot fouls and ACL, PG getting poked in eye that could theoretically have ended his career, guys getting pushed midair when driving to basket, all the flagrants, etc. None of those are done in the spirit of the game
