1. I don't ever think the players are asked to tank and so whether or not they buy into something they don't participate in is negligible
2. from my understanding, tanking comes in the form of minute distributions, players with minor scrapes being held out as if they were major injuries, etc
a few years back i read an article about it and one guy wrote that the tanking was highly advanced, how a team always knew what were the optimal lineups and would often puprosefully go in the opposite direction - ie player x is horrible against the pick and roll so he always gets extra minutes when a pick and roll duo is on the floor, player y is really bad offensively with some players but works very well with others, well he's only going to see time with the guys he's incompatible with etc
3. this is all a moot point though, the warriors will likely be pretty bad regardless of whether or not they try to be without curry
