Larry Brown was such a shitty coach.

He literally wanted the 76ers to practice EVERY DAY (even during the playoffs!) thus leading to Iverson’s epic Practice rant.

And **** it led to discussion of TRADING Iverson who was the ****ing MVP.

**** Larry Brown that curmudgeon piece of shitty ****.

Baseball Stars was one of the first game to track stats, right? I remember playing another game around that time, I think on NES, that also kept track of stats, had a full season play, and also had multiple stadium choices which I think was also a first for games around that time period.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ll_video_games

I cannot seem to recall the name of it after viewing this list. I think one the stadiums you could play in space where the ball would travel further with the lower gravity etc. One stadium had an all dirt infield and maybe one had a larger wall. It was just neat to have that variety in a game. I remember really enjoying the game. If someone else remembers this game let me know the name.

Also, watching the Last Dance and some older 30 for 30's you realize how inefficient the league was back during that time and just how many of the guys playing back then wouldn't even make the league in today's game. Basically useless space in the paint if playing in today's game. Some of the stat lines where Jordan scores 50 and his team scores 90 total. I watched the Reggie Miller "Winning Time" last night and the final scores in some of those Knick Pacer's playoff games were just laughable. Like 85 to 70 one game. I mean, come on. Atleast when Harden goes off for 50 in today's game his team also usually scores 120+.

I know rule changes, etc and they let people get away with more on defense back then but the game was definitely moneyballed possibly harder than any of the major sports in the past few decades and some of those guys that cashed in their paychecks back then should be extremely thankful they were born during that time period when coaches, GM's, etc thought they actually brought value to court.

I went and looked and its reasonably interesting. In games where Harden gets 50 or more there are 11 times when the Rockets scored under 120 and 12 when they scored 120 or more. This year the breakdown is 1-4. Prior to this year he was at 10 - 8 for u120-o120.

Adam Silver had a call with the NBAPA today.

Details from sources:

Quote:
If the 2019-20 season resumes, no fans are expected. And that could be the case as long as there is no vaccine.

40 percent of the league’s revenue comes from fans.

A decision on the season can go into June.

If/when NBA is able to return, Adam Silver told players it is safer in one or two locations — such as Walt Disney World in Orlando and Las Vegas — than it would be flying around to cities and facilities.

The NBA is sifting through “a lot of bad options,” meaning whatever route the resumption could take place is less than ideal.

The NBA is projecting a one-year timetable on a coronavirus vaccine. Silver emphasized that the league collectively will have to deal with the coronavirus issue for the foreseeable future — and that “no decision will be risk-free.”

Silver admitted the NBA “couldn’t start now even if we wanted to.”

NBA teams will be told again that it is voluntary for players to work out and pressure should not be applied. NBPA President Chris Paul and Vice President Kyrie Irving told Silver that some players have been feeling pressure from teams to return to facilities and that should not be the case, to which Silver agreed and stated any other concerns should be made to the league and NBPA.

Silver admitted there would be a significant impact for the league financially if there is no season and then no fans attending games in 2020-21.
According to Silver, the league would look into other interactive ways to get fans engaged.

When asked about a potential second wave of the virus in the fall, Silver said that is why a delayed start to 2020-21 makes sense. Silver referenced a Christmas Day start. Sources said a Dec. 25 start to the 2020-21 season is gaining momentum.

The ever-elusive question across pro sports is this: What happens if a player tests positive again? Silver responded that he hopes the NBA will be able to administer daily testing at that point, have no stoppage of play, and isolate the player(s) in quarantine. Silver cited a potential two-day break, as well. Silver stated any decision would need to be worked out with the NBPA and he has spoken to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred about a protocol.

A 3-to-6 week ramp-up period is expected should the NBA be able to resume the season — and the NBA prefers to have a full four-round, seven-game per series postseason.

Sit down Tacko.

Tacko: I am sitting down.

lol

I think Tacko would be very effective vs. the Dream Team in like 20-24 mpg role.
