Seems like even if you're down 1 ,2, or 3 you still probably have to foul b/c there isn't enough difference between shot and game clocks. With 4 seconds left you could just shoot a Dame length shot and as long as it hits the rim, by the time someone boards it, the game's over. Or just have someone lob the ball in the air and that probably ends it as well provided the ball doesn't hit the scoreboard or roof or something.

If the ball doesn't hit the rim I think the refs would move the game clock back to when the shot clock expired.

Could be wrong.

I've seen it done a few times, but you're right in that it's not done as often as it could be.

A player needs to be careful not to throw it into the crowd (as that's a tech).

Maybe they think there's a chance to have it stolen during the wind up.

Man I feel like I disrespected the Bucks too much. This team is way too loaded for the Celts.

Mirotic, Ilysova, Lopez....this 3 headed big man monster lineup seems too athletic for the Celtics.

So basically their offense is Giannis passes to someone for a contested 3? Seems lethal.
