That team takes GS to 7.

Why does every game on NBA TV look like it is being filmed on an iPhone by some guy with just OK seats?

The problem with AD actually getting moved before the deadline is that the draft order isn't set until after the season. It is more valuable for the Pel's to know the exact pick they are getting than the additional value trading AD this season would net them.

A tanking solution and trade promoting Draft idea:

The first rounds draft order is determined by the first 60 or so games of the season using the current lotto odds, the exact # of games doesn't really matter. The trade deadline is one week after this number. The rest of the season is played out where the second round draft order is based on BEST record. This will minimize late season tanking for good and bad teams. Teams can plan for their future sooner by knowing their picks.

Holding the draft lotto during all star weekend and trade deadline a week after would be super fun.

Boogie really has dumplings toes on defense. He might be unplayable in the playoffs. Entertaining though, watching Durant/Curry/Klay rotate like mad to cover the holes.

All I know is I'm having a hard time imagining the Pelicans trading Anthony Davis for the 2017-18 Lakers

The Knax have been managing things sneaky-good over the past couple years imo, and I want to see one of the best fan-bases in the league finally rewarded with an awesome team.

God bless you Seadood. NBA Season Thread 2018-19

- NOT making any rash moves trying to compete this year, embracing the tank.

And this may be a somewhat controversial opinion:

- Having an all-black FO wrt all power positions.

- THJR

afa Knicks fans, gtfo. They are loyal perhaps to a fault, similar to the Warriors fanbase of seven years ago except obviously greater in size.
+750 TZ Points NBA Season Thread 2018-19 for elite showing of work in the face of harsh criticism.

Plus the Knicks fan base has stayed loyal and true to heart through all the pain they’ve endured in the last TWO DECADES of irrelevance and dumbfounded stupidity.

If any fan base deserves to have a great team it’s them.

Thon wants to be traded. Brow wants to be traded.

Even swap, teams keep their average height.

Hayward had about 270 seconds tonight where he demonstrated NBA level quickness - but, then he turned the ball over in transition and that was that.

So assuming NOP go the blow it up route, what sorta market value we think Jrue has? He makes a lot, but still decently young and not too many miles in the legs because of his injury troubles (that he seems to be over). I'd love to see Pacers make a play for him, Jrue Dipo backcourt D would be so so good, but wondering what it would take.

Ben Simmons for Davis seems like a decent starting spot. Simmons played at LSU...

Then Ben Simmons forces his way out of NO soon after. Plus Sixers have no idea if Brow would re-sign with them.

Pelicans was such a horrible name for the team too.

New Orleans Brass with similar color to the Saints was clearly the optimal play.

Good for AD and it is important to say so. We see players get screwed all the time and for some reason we do side with the 'it's business' narrative. Masai did what he had to improve the team. Ainge did what he had to make the club better. This is no different. AD is a businessman and he needs to make his career more successful. It's far too easy to imagine basketball players as just assets and pieces, without humanizing them.

He's not good enough for a rebuilding team to want to build around, so he should be target of a capped-out playoff team if he is moved at the deadline. That suggests that teams wanting to trade for him are probably constrained to matching salary that is not a key rotation player plus draft picks that are likely to be non-lottery firsts at best. How many depends on if the salary is expiring or not and how bad of a contract it is. They may also be able to throw in a young player who doesn't look to be in their long-term plans but might benefit from a change of scenery.

The alternative is that he could be the target of a team with cap space after it strikes out on its top free agent targets this summer. In that case, you could easily have a poorly-run team making a stupid trade.
