Knicks have never lost a game when Ntilikina playd 20+ minutes

He's already the best Knicks PG after 30 minutes of NBA

not exactly a treasure trove at power forward.

if they can't afford patpat, idk where else they go. george has been long adamant about not wanting to play the 4. i'm not even sure they could afford james johnson. they probably have to pray that jerami grant makes a huge leap. or they roll westbrook/abrines/roberson/george/adams and pray george doesnt ***** about it.

idk how you define competing vs giving them a sweat, but i like this roster's chances more than cavs. easy to just say lol westbrook but if you had to build a roster that could guard the GSW monster under the current cap, this is a pretty good attempt.

westbrook guards curry, PG guards durant, roberson guards klay, patpat guards draymond, adams guards iguodala.

Conleys deal is fine

Parsons deal would be tough as **** to move and likely not worth trying to move if you're Memphis starting a rebuild. They got pick protections which would incentivize a multi year tank.

if dwayne casey wasn't a potato at playoff rotations you'd probably see more in his value, which is certainly higher than 3/16MM.

He's not irrelevant, he's a big that can still play the PF position without being an offensive or defensive liablity

Thunder are closer to missing the playoffs than they are to contending.

I think the Patterson signing was a good signing and nice business. But it doesn't matter. They could have gotten him for free and it barely makes them any better. He's not a top 100 player itl.

Then that could make it possible to just cut Drape.
I dont think thats optimal. does bledsoe fit with lebron well?

it certainly makes them better but I would prefer another player, esp if by some miracle isiaih returns to form.

Amazon as a valuation comp for an NBA franchise is maybe the most TZ of all TZ posts ever made.

Hollywood accounting comp seems a fair parallel, bit I can only confirm that the Hollywood side is Byzantine and bogus. It would make no sense to me, though, for teams to actually be losing money.

Raptors are 3-2, despite shooting below 30% from 3 in all their games save for the first one (29.5% avg total-28th in the NBA), it is worse considering they are 3rd in the NBA in attempts. Shot under 25% in their two close losses @ SA & @GS, despite many of those 3s being uncontested. Team is playing unreal well despite not being able to shoot worth a lick.

I’m still with Wooderson on Patterson. Anyone who thought he’d be a difference maker this year didn’t watch him play last year.

There are good reasons he got the contract he got

Sessions and Jack might be the two worst PGs to take the court this season.

Re: Lavar Ball

I find him annoying like I would a fly buzzing around in my living room, but his takes always have some sound reasoning to them. I watched this wanting to LOL, but his response to SAS's question at 3:30 here is exactly what I'd want to see in a player on my team.

re: the French Prince

If you didn't watch the game (& the previous Knicks games) and just look at the box score, it doesn't look like anything much at all.

If you watch the game - or even the first half (when he had 0pts) - you'll be stunned by how he transformed the team.

I'm not sure if that kind of magic is sustainable, but maybe they (KP & the crew)'re young and not quite cynical enough to just be swept along by it.

ESPN (& others) interviewed Walt Frazier on the 50th anniversary of his debut in the NBA. Cutting some of the flimflam, the first 2 questions here directly mirror Frank's initial NBA experiences. Q3. Hating the team he came into is really interesting. Q4 - Holzman became the coach ?half? way into Walt's first season. In some of the fluffier stuff he talks about rooming with Phil Jackson on road trips and going sightseeing with him as they both had pretty minimal burn before Holzman became the coach.

Quote:
Q: What do you remember about that game?

A: I started that game, I didn't even know [I was starting]. I went about 1-for-8 in 32 minutes but the [newspaper reporter] said I played a good all-around game: "The other guys stunk. But the guy Frazier, the first-round draft choice, looked pretty good." I was definitely nervous. That's why I didn't shoot well, I was so nervous. But I was confident in my defense. Everybody thought I was a defensive player because I didn't shoot the ball that much. But I wasn't confident in shooting yet.

Q: Do you remember anything about the opening minutes?

A:
I'm sure I was so nervous. I hadn't even played because in the preseason I got injured. I didn't play the first five games [because of a sprained ankle] and now they start me. It was my right ankle, so I had to drive a car with my left foot (laughs). It was a hassle.

Q: Did those rookie nerves in the first game last throughout the season? Were they gone after a few games?

A:
Yeah I had those rookie nerves because I didn't really like the team. The guys were selfish. Nobody would pass the ball to each other, nobody would play defense. They wouldn't get back. Like, if I took the ball out of bounds, I wasn't seeing it again. So I knew, hey man, I'm going to play defense and make assists and that was my role early on, until [Red] Holzman took over. Because he came in, saying we're playing defense. So we started to pick up from end line to end line. And obviously that's my forte, so I started to see more time. Phil Jackson started to see more time. When the Knicks got behind, we'd come in pressing and trapping, trying to get back in the game.

Q: What stands out after all these years?

A:
My teammates, teamwork. Starting with Holzman, demanding that you play defense and play as a team or you're not going to play if you're not a team player. So he set the standard once he became the coach, and you look at the record -- once he came in that's when we started thriving. I'll never forget the first time he was the coach, Bradley was late. Bradley had just come in from England, and Holzman fined him. Everybody stood up straight in their chair, like, 'Damn, he fined Bill Bradley?' So he played no favorites man. ... There was only one set of rules, for Frazier, Reed to the last guy on the bench. He was consistent. And if you work hard in practice, you get in the game. So everybody gave 100 percent out of respect [for Holzman].
eh - I s'pose I should link the whole thing: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2...th-anniversary

I said Crowder was overrated when the trade went down. His shooting was terrible the last 1/4 of the season and playoffs. I dont know the numbers but it seemed a lot of his made baskets came in garbage time. I’m not surprised at all that he was benched.
