I'm really feeling what they are doing as of late. Josh Jackson is imo a jumpshot away from being one of the highest upside players ITL. I don't like his form, but it seems more workable compared to someone like Ben Simmons. Going toward the basket he seems to have a good bit of advanced touch with his layups and floaters, and he's always been an above-average passer for his age.

They might be last year's 76ers.

jazz would need to be in 3 seed territory to attract a big fa. even then it might be tight

edit: it's interesting that the celtics' offense badly needs scoring, yet brad won't unleash tatum

Woj had Nuggets President Josh (son of Stan) Kroenke on his pod today. There is a lot of good stuff on the Melo trade and his idea for tweaking the draft... which sounds a lot like Larva's.

It reminded me that Denver got one last piece in 2016:

Spoiler:

thanks Melo

Here is the list without the FG or 3PT FG%.

Looks like the 3PT FG% excludes:
Barkley
David Robinson
Karl Malone
Olajuwon
Julius Erving
Walt Frazier

All things considered, that is still a pretty elite list to be on although the PPG is obviously an lol comparison among the rest of those players.

Seadood, guivre, tarheels, and others:

Which of the following do you think actually has a high % chance of signing with the Jazz in the next two seasons?

LeBron James
Paul George
Jimmy Butler
Kawhi Leonard
Klay Thompson
Other big '18 or '19 FA

the next lebron james would have to be born in utah for the jazz to score a big fa. qwhite unlikely.

Don't know what is in Kawhi's uncle head, but he looks like a guy that sign there

And Kawhi/Gobert/Mitchell when Golden State will start to struggle keeping everybody would be super great for the NBA

Jimmy Butler is someone that would have no problem living in Utah, but he should be leaving his forever coach and a pretty decent team. LolWiggins max contract might be helpful there

James/PG are attention whores, 0% chance

There's always a 2% chance of winning a playoff serie against the Warriors, that's an automatic MY NEXT CHAPTER

I don't think there's much chance that Kawhi or Butler signs with Utah, but everyone has their own opinion, I guess.

I would guess that Kawhi re-signs with SA, but if he does not, I think he would be inclined to sign with several other teams before Utah, for example, the Lakers.

Black players don't want to move to a team where they are going to be one of the five black people in the entire state

The problem with Utah is their holes are players that really aren’t available. They are set at sg and C and nominally at SF, and who are the PF/PGs coming up?

Adding someone like Kawhi/PG13 is a major improvement over Jingles, but it’s not nearly the improvement you’d get over say a Wilson Chandler. If any SF star wants to come to a small market tram over the next couple years they are picking Denver over Utah, and the odds of even that are pretty slim.

Trey Burke was right.

I agree with this, although I think that a big market team like the Lakers has a greater chance.

I agree, the Lakers will have precedence over everyone. Living in SoCal you really do notice how much more that franchise has to offer a player.

Would you rather have James Worthy do your postgame show or Antonio Davis? Everything about the Lakers Org is pure class.

You mean, now that Jim Buss is gone.

Specifically for Kawhi, he's also an LA/SoCal guy. That usually helps, although sometimes it hurts.

this is not a shot at utah-- team seems well run and is certainly in a good position going forward*--but i'd be shocked if any of the players named signed there. them going there would have to make utah an outright favorite and i still don't think that would be enough b/c they could probably still sign other places and be in contention

*like, this is all true and hayward still left

PG, Kawhi, and Klay are all LA guys.

If the Lakers don’t get any of them Magic should be immolated.

If they all left their teams, that would be true.

But most likely, Kawhi and Klay stay with their teams. PG is probably OKC or LA, depending on what happens with OKC in the playoffs.

Kawhi is from Moreno Valley, it's the furthest thing from LA culturally.

The closest comp to that city is probably Sacto.

Kawhi was born in LA and went to high school in Moreno Valley/Riverside and college in San Diego. I do not know when he moved from the LA area to Riverside. His father owned a car wash in Compton, that he was unfortunately killed at.

I formerly said LA/SoCal, and Heroball said LA, but regardless of the technicalities, pretty much all of SoCal is Lakers territory. We're not talking urban/rural demographics or political leanings, we're simply talking about geography as an indicator of NBA franchise interest.

I would assume that Kawhi grew up as a Lakers fan and has affinity for the franchise, unless shown otherwise.

Frustrated post-game James Worthy is worth the cost of league pass.
