Mainly because I want to see Rockets vs Warriors on the other side

Man on part 2 of duncdon mock trade deadline. Nuggets are wheeling and dealing.

Traded Nurk, juancho, beasley for millsap

Trade mudiay, jameer and salary for dragic

Dragic/Murray
Harris/Barton
Gallo/Chandler
Millsap/faried
Jokic/Arthur

Stacked present, stacked future

Does seadood like?

i think ive reached my breaking point w/ the heat where i'm cheering for the win streak to continue. next 3 vs the nets, sixers, and magic too

somewhat of an indictment of the new CBA that it took this long

I don't like but I don't hate. I like the idea of trading for Dragic to move him at a later date when Murray becomes the guy, but I don't like the idea of paying Millsap 40M/year from the ages of 32-37. If it were earlier in the season where they could get out of the 8 seed it makes some sense, but imo they are sacrificing a lot of future flexibility to grab Millsap who I love, but probably won't in two years.

IMO they should NOT be going after anyone who's not near their peak in 2 years, which is probably when they'll be ready to contend. I know it's just Juancho, who I LOVE, and Beasley + Nurk, but it's more about what you have to pay Millsap afterward.

Jokic and Faried have been fire and I'm fine with that at 1/3 the cost of Jokic/Millsap.

I'd rather see them shipping one of the guys like Barton/Gallo/Chandler for young players with upside like Stanley Johnson/Oubre/WTCS. I've been really hoping they took a shot at the Steiner simply because in a perfect world he might be a perfect pairing with Jokic--he's a lot like Faried on offense but with a ton more defensive upside.

Saying it like that is less impressive than saying they just beat the Hawks and Pelicans on the road by 55.

Im really curious what Mudiay's trade value is around the league.

Dragic is pretty old and expensive, but still damn good and Id think hed command more than Mudiay.

Knicks have ignored and disrespected Oakley for years

Even if he was retaliating Oakley deserved to get booted based on what I have read, but I kinda doubt he erupted for no reason sitting around the owner during a Knicks game

Uhhh, in what world is this not impressive?

Geoff you are a great poster, but you can't read for ****. I didn't say it wasn't impressive, I said it's more impressive to say you just beat one middling and one good team on the road by an average of 22 points than it would be to say you put up 250 on them.

Because the former indicates that you still D'd the crap out of them in addition to crushing on offense...

My guess is a lot less than Nate Duncan prescribes. Guys who have no vested interest in the long-term team being good right now will probably always overvalue him.

IMO he's close to untradable as a single entity because his value is probably much lower than his potential value to his team right now. I thought Nate did have a great point that him not having a coach for the last 2 years and being so raw probably means his next contract will be a bargain even if he shows improvement in year 3.

IMO Denver's best bet is to make sure and coach him right this summer, and if he improves in year 3 try to lock him up to a reasonable extension pronto.

Also, Lee Jenkins did a piece on Jokic. Apparently Darko's career path has had a major influence on how Nikola got where he is now.

I don't want to make this a Staps vs. Jokic argument, but I wonder if Niko growing up with such tough siblings is the reason he's so physical with guys who are much stronger than him to the point where they start getting T'd up on the regular. It happened with Dwight again last night and Andre DeJordan a couple weeks prior.

I'll use my onetime on that potential Warriors-Jazz play-offs serie,

How awesome would it be to watch play-offs Stephanie and Katie shooked while Warriors stays under 90 pts each game

re: mudiay. i think his trade value is ****, and i was always low on him in the draft, but somehow after terrible nba play im coming around to the fact he'll eventually be a good nba player, but will be a late bloomer. the shot has to get half decent first, the decision making has to improve, but i think he winds up finding a way to be a league avg starting PG by the middle of his second contract. really weird i feel this way about him, but he does have something about his cadence and passing in the pnr that i've liked in SL and limited time watching him in the nba.

but i don't thikn anyone else likes him or values him as such, with murray there the nuggets should probably trade him-- i don't mind the idea of them packaging something like mudiay + mid first/nurkic/something for dragic. heat might as well push back their timeline at this point

If nobody values him, why trade? His contract is cheap and he can improve while getting 20ish minutes a night. If they are lucky, they get one of the better backup PGs on a very nice second contract, and can trade him by the time they need to pay Jamal and their other rooks this year.

His shot, at least off the C&S, has actually been decent (36% from 3 last I checked). Overall his offense has been much improved with Jokic (common theme), but where he has sucked, and I mean sucked BAD, has been on defense. His DRpm numbers are firmly ensconced with a bunch of shrimp PGs, which is a big indictment given his size. IMO his biggest issue is lack of focus for a full game or even possession. He starts out getting off screens well, but as the possession wears down he just loses it and ends up getting swallowed or failing to close out properly. I think he's carrying some extra weight and pretty clearly doesn't have the motor of Jamal, and I really hope that's something he works on in the offseason.

Did they not "D the crap out of them"? The Jazz scoring 125 points b2b game probably implies it was a decently high possession game. The fact of the matter is the other teams still scored 95 & 94 points. Any way you try to paint the picture it's impressive as hell. So I guess I don't really get what your point is/was.
02-09-2017 , 03:55 PM
Truth is, it has not even been high possessions game, pace was 90 and 92 against hawks and pelicans

They are just insanely efficient > 62% eFG, without running too hot from 3 (38%, 43%)

Yes.

Before the season, people were excited to see the start of the "Big Three's" journey: Giannis, Jabari, Middleton. Then Middleton tears his hamstring. Now, the very night he returns, Jabari goes down and will be out at least a year. Who knows if he'll be any good when he gets back. Just sucks.
