The only players who probably think they're the best player in the leauge are Steph, LeBron, Russ, Kobe, and Monta.

Maybe Nick Young and Evan Turner too.

I mean Victor is Victor, I expect nothing less and respect it. But Geoff thinking this is some media spin and that labron was doing anything but trying to say he's still the best player in the league is incredibly daft.
05-14-2016 , 11:30 AM
As far Lebron goes Young Geoff is on point pretty close to 100% of the time. Haters gonna hate.

It's not that he thinks that, that's valid and understandable. It's the passive aggressive backhanded way he goes about it. He comes off as such a whiny salty b**** each time he does this.

Also the tone he uses confirms.

There is definitely some passive aggression/insecurity from Lebron in that statement, but he's always been like that bfd. He's still the best player of the last 30 years and maybe more, and his team is playing well and for each other right now. Hes also on what I would consider to be the closest thing to a free roll since his early years since nobody is expecting him to beat the big bad Warriors. If he can do that it adds something to his legacy that even Jordan didn't accomplish.

As far as the comments are concerned, this is one of the first times his passive aggression seemed completely planned--he's just firing shats.

Also the whole Valuable argument is dumb. Lebron has a worse team around him so he's more valuable? So is the award about the teammates then? Best player on the worst team wins? They should probably change it to Most Oustanding or something but MVP just has that ring to it

that sentence comes from the fact that the question was not "do you think Curry deserves the mvp", the question was some bs about how he thinks MVP should be defined.

Don't see why the woyas can't go small vs Kanter/Adams. The Thunder will have as much trouble defending as the woyas will rebounding. That said I would expect Ezeli to get a lot of run if they are getting worked on the glass

Edit: which he will anyway, but esp if OKC grabs 30% of the Oreb or something

i said all year that the thunder would be the team to give the warriors the most trouble. i thought pre series i'd be interested in thunder if it was more than +550 or warriors if it was less than -350, opened up right smack in the middle and i think has moved some toward okc (i assume becuase of injuries question marks?)

as much of a travesty as it is that we aren't going to see spurs-warriors, this'll be a much more aesthetically pleasing series. and much more fun for what's left of nba dfs!

also i watched the lebron video and saw absolutely nothing wrong with it. i think he answered perfectly.

Don't think this series will even be that fun to watch. I suppose it's possible that Russ has the series of his life and it's just insanely awesome to watch but it's more likely he goes 12-30 every game with 7 turnovers and Durant plays like Durant and its not nearly enough because the rest of the Thunder suck. Total PD for the series is gonna be like >50 points a lot of the time.

of course it will be fun

We can talk about most valuable all the ways you want Lebron and the MVP would still be Curry miles ahead of you
After he said the "when you talk about most valuable.." line he followed it up by saying Steph deserves it. How many arguments have there been in this very forum about what constitutes "most valuable player"? It's one of the most commonly debates topics across all the major sports.

People who break down every single thing LeBron says and act like their interpretation is objectively correct are the worst.

You try having a microphone in your face day after day and see how hard it is to say things that won't be misinterpreted by the masses.

People think Steph is playing at a level above everyone else when I think it's really Steph Lebron and Westbrook playing at a level above everyone else.

All 3 are so different too, what an era to NBA

in isolation, as like a hypothetical conversation in a novel thats not attached to reality, yes there's nothing wrong with those sentences in that order.

lebron "see salt" james saying them in his trademark passive aggressive way, and also trying to be a bit sneaky about it... i mean, come the **** on. lebron has the maturity of a 7 year old princess.

can you imagine the kind of entertainment this guy will provide in 20 years when he's talking about w/e current crop of players ? LOL

Meh I'm the biggest BRON fan boy possibly itt and this year's STEPH is on a different level than anyone ever has been. Trying to lump him with anyone this year is a disservice to him.

Agree, I don't really see Kanter being a positive player versus the warriors. The spurs were a dream match up for him.

i will also say lebron is better than kawhi and will always be better than kawhi. and kawhi is a beast.
05-14-2016 , 01:48 PM
the game that steph hit that insane shot was probably the best regular season game of all time. series will be incredibly entertaining
05-14-2016 , 01:49 PM
I always took it as the literal NBA MVP. Like the most valuable player to the league, not to an individual team. AKA the best player.
05-14-2016 , 02:05 PM
If lebron was taking a shot at anyone it was at Derrick rose

asking a wing like LeBron or Kawhi to guard Steph is a bad idea. As great as both are on defense, Steph's handle and off the ball movement are too slippery for them.

The guys that do best on Steph are small guys like Avery Bradley.

my lingering questions from the spurs/thunder series are why west supplanted diaw (injury/fitness?) and why the spurs kinda abandoned their offense (concerns about pace? thought lma was unguardable?)

woyas/thunder should be extremely entertaining. the kanter/adams fringe stuff is kinda beside the point though-- thunder need rwb to be better than he has been vs the dubs to win. he struggled this year, and has historically
05-14-2016 , 03:04 PM
I think the only way Durant leaves OKC now is if Warriors sweep and Westbrook takes all the shots
