I'd like to know who actually wrote that.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Sure, I'd vote for Harden over Klay, but Klay plays a pivotal role on the best team to ever play. You play to win the games. Harden's team barely made the playoffs while showing embarrassing effort very often and he came into the season out of shape and got his coach fired. Pretty sure "All-NBA" can be pretty open to interpretation, and it's totally reasonable to prefer Klay over Harden in a bunch of builds (like the olympic team, for example), to think that he is doing something on this current 73 win team that Harden couldn't do (and of course the converse is true, but Harden's team only won 41 games).

You not agreeing with his POV doesn't make his arguments embarrassing

Klay, the 2nd best shooter of all time, has a lot of his potential shots taken from him by Steph, the best player and shooter of all time. If Harden were in that position he'd put up worse numbers too. Having free rein on a sorry ass 41-41 Houston team should definitely count against you somewhat.

Sam originally says 0 then concedes Towns. My initial reaction was there should be several but after some thought it's prob just Towns and Giannis. Next tier looks something like

Porzingis
Wiggins
Booker
Turner
Parker
Cj
Dar
Gordon
Winslow
Middleton

All <50% imo
i'm pretty sure that Okafor is more likely to be a multiple-time all-star than everyone on that 2nd tier list.

Thorpe/Lowe did a playoff preview that was pretty good

Haralabos on Simmons speaks cryptically about the adjustment he knows teams should make against GSW and says how he'll never reveal it, then a few minutes later just can't help himself and gives a bunch of tidbits. Whether it was the actual secret adjustment he had in mind idk, but he said you can't let Curry hide on defense and you have to work him there hard, physically. I remember the Spurs doing that when they beat them in what, 2013?

I have this fantasy where Pop has whoever Curry guards just run everywhere non-stop and have screens set over, and over, and over, and over, like to a ludicrous level and to the extent that Parker or whoever he's chasing will be exhausted and otherwise useless. And if they switch, pound LMA on him.

Bob also speculates whether or not Pop will go back to Horry/Bowen tactics.

it's late so I could have just zoned out, but did they even address Det/Cle? I specifically remember points they made on every other series.

GSW is VERY good at switching through screens from what I've seen though, I think that would play right into the Warriors strengths.

I think you just have to try and get a favorable switch, clear out and go right at Steph. He's very good on D imo but less so 1v1, and maybe you wear him out or get a few silly fouls which he has been known to pick up.

On the other side of the ball, I still want to see teams switch everything and crowd him so hard he's baited into driving, and then forcing him to do that over and over and over again, all game long because you aren't giving him any 2on1's to pass out of...

That + making him work on defense every possession and maybe you have a shot. In some ways I think Cleveland is best suited for this type of game plan because they have the most ISO scorers, but I doubt someone like Bron would give it up to Kyrie to try and get Steph tired and/or in foul trouble.

Woyas really need a thread in single team
04-16-2016 , 11:29 AM
there was a lineup to get into Jurassic Park at 9 am today

Weather is perfect here I wouldn't be shocked if there's 15,000 ppl outside of the arena by tipoff, downtown is going to be a circus.

Just curious- what exactly would a great version of this thread be? You seem to complain a lot about certain teams getting talked about too much but like..it's an NBA thread and the Warriors just broke the wins record, of course they're gonna be talked about the most right?

Now there are some ridiculous examples of this (tzwein/AJ)- people who turn everything into a conversation about GS/Steph and hate on anything else- but you have to expect a team as good as the Warriors to bring some terrible homers with them. For the most part this thread has gotten a lot better as the year has gone by imo, and is pretty damn good at discussing a wide array of topics.

Ok then give those two their own thread

Does Warriors-Rockets need a thread? I have an OP half-prepped if so.

If no western thread means no AJ/twzien posting I'm fine with it

There is one. They're an all time great team, they warrant a lot of specific discussion in this thread

That said, is there a WC first round playoff thread

Edit: should post the thread Rei
