TDS, man, you keep telling ppl to post stats and **** but you post like no content yourself. ur posts are just like agressive anger /mems. eye test + bbIQ >> cheryy picked stats. since your goal in life is to become a TZ allstar you should learn from the TZ greats like bobo and dood. those guys are pretty respectful even when they disagree w/ ppl.

They're T2 in fewest 3PA allowed which is a very good sign. They lead the league in 3P% against at 29%, but a bit of that has to be variance. There's very little chance that teams are shooting at expectation at such a low rate.

Towns is just really freakish but still has to put a lot together. He kinda reminds me of how Drummond was in college, albeit better at this stage.
towns isn't just toolz like drum, he can really shoot/handle/pass. his upside is so high, okafor is like a lock good nba player but towns could be a ultraelite guy. he's the total package and is also really smart, he has an elite mentality

his stats would be unreal if cal was a less sick recruiter and didn't have like 4 nba bigs on his team. he should've gone somewhere else but money talks

I actually post mostly in the gameday/LC thread cuz i'm just LC, buut sometimes i stray. only team i watch 100% is like woyas, so thats the only half ass insight I can give. but half of the **** ITT is LC. I wish ppl posted less LC stuff ITT.

If he could do those things as well as your suggesting then he would be. Having NBA caliber players as teammates should make it easier for him to be more efficient on offense, not less.

Obviously his bulk stats would be much better if needed, but no excuse for him to be shooting 50% from the field.

I think he's the #2 or 3 prospect with a big gap after three but you're downplaying how good Okafor his.

he does do em, hits his fts, passes well (similar assist% to okafor despite getting way less ball)

okafor's gonna be really good but towns has elite upside that can't be passed up imo. i can see how it's objectively close but i love towns

okafor was always gonna totally **** on the ncaa too with his skillset, he's not as finished as he looks right now imo. he's prob not gonna be this upstoppable offensive force in the nba, and there's questions about his potential on d

lol if Towns got a better pass or a friendlier roll on just 6 shots over the entire season he would be shooting 60%.

and if you don't have the height or athleticism to be a good shot blocker in the NCAA you sure as **** aren't going to be one in the NBA either.

Well if it's as easy as you say to **** on the NCAA (it is) then Towns should be doing that instead of passing. The FTs are whatever, it's a small sample for both and I'm sure Okafor is going to be a fine FT shooter.

I don't think secondary skills like passing, fts, etc make up for Towns not being able to score nearly as well and on low usage while presumably being more fresh due to playing lesser minutes and with a better cast.

I'll usually side on tools>college production but Okafor has the tools too and is just a much better actual player. I don't know where you're getting that Towns has a high IQ or WIM. He's never really displayed that nor had the chance to.

just keep astroturfing fella. im not sure why you are coming at me when I'm dropping heat with bbIQ and eye test against a couple dallas fanboys that cherrypick and REFUSE TO GIVE US DALLAS' OFFENSIVE ON/OFF RATING WITH RONDO

yup if okafor's going to be a good defender it'll be in a system sense, he's not gonna be a very good rim protector. that said he's pretty mobile for his size so he's not a lock defensive scrub or anything

diff is towns is quicker and longer so he has potential to be a real difference maker on d. his standing reach is 9'5 (dmc, brook lopez, oden size). plenty of possible outcomes where towns is like a 2nd option on off and still a really great player because he shows all the signs of being a really versatile offensive guy. more obv if you look at his non cbb clips

towns could obv stand to be more assertive tho

this is the draft class that should get all the hype, these dudes are gonna be nice
01-01-2015 , 10:47 PM
Yeah I'd easily take both ahead of anyone from the last two classes. Probably Mudiay too.
01-01-2015 , 10:53 PM
Okay, I'm doing some stuff on the Pistons improvement since the Smoove trade and I thought I'd apply the same to the Mavs post-Rondo.

It's very simplistic, so take it FWIW. The "expected" ORtg/DRtg is simply the average of the team's ORtg vs. opponent's DRtg and vice versa.

01-01-2015 , 10:55 PM
what is Towns supposed to do in order to be more assertive, punch andrew harrison in the face every time he gets great post position and harrison is either too dumb or blind to pass him the ball?

oh and you want WIM? while playing for the Dominican Republic against Team USA, Karl Towns once blocked shots by both Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook in the same game. he was 16 years old at the time.

This class going to be historically top heavy IMO

Knicks RealGM thread about how LBJ may be leaving Cleveland (reference to what he supposedly said to Wade on Xmas Day and some other random source), with several posters posting pics and gifs of Phil illustrating what a "boss" he is.

One poster speculated on this being a potential future lineup:

Aldridge
Bron
Melo
Stanley Johnson
Calderon

All LMA would have to do is sign a one-year deal this year with NYK in anticipation of signing the "Mega Max" in 2016. (Unfortunately a Hawks fan commented that this scenario is just about mathematically impossible.)

Most of the posters in the thread are pretending that they don't think there's any possibility of any of this happening, but their excitement is obvious.

Did I ever mention the Knicks RealGM thread last year where they were ranking the top 10-15 players? Most lists started with either:

1. labron
2. Durant
3. Melo

or:

1. Kevin Durant
2. LeBron James
3. Carmelo Anthony

I love when they use full names because they think it makes their list more legitimate.

RealGMers are so dumb. Every day in the Raptor forum someone will suggest a dumb trade. Sometimes I explain to them that in order for trades to work, you need to send and receive equal value. Sometimes I watch Tyler Handsbro being traded for Paul Millsap and wonder how they ever got to that point in their life.

LMA staying in Portland.
01-01-2015 , 11:29 PM
not going to lie, would be sad with okafor as a wolves fan

TOWNS
01-01-2015 , 11:50 PM
Yeah LMA has all but guaranteed he's not going anywhere. He didn't sign last off season because POR can pay him a lot more after this year.
01-02-2015 , 12:03 AM
i'm pretty sure LMA secretly sucks anyway. i mean yeah he's really good at shooting long twos, but that's really not a skill you should be striving for and that's like all he does on offense.

the last game i saw POR play i swear i saw Aldridge pass up a wide open lane to the hoop for an easy layup or dunk so he could take a 20 foot jumper instead.

i mean obviously he doesn't suck, but overall i bet his offense is a lot closer to having a neutral effect on Portland's winrate than his skill and scoring average would indicate.

I was really excited when you responded to my checkbox post ( http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...postcount=7898 ), but you really just had nothing.

I actually wouldn't mind having a factual debate about the Rondo thing, but every time I post something I see positive about Rondo, I just get called an idiot a bunch, even though like every NBA exec in the league seems to agree that he is some variant of good.
