Don't know anything about Okafor but picking Duke over Coach Cal isn't a good start.

i haven't watched much of okafor at all, but just based on athleticism alone i think you'd have to have some kind of serious brain malfunction to rank him as a better prospect than a healthy embiid.

Keep running guys out of town then.

heres the thing, okafor is going to get like 40 PER bullying 6'5 210 white centers while hes a fat earthbound molass in the NBA who cannot defend and destroys team spacing and transition defense by being incredibly fat and slow

He picked Duke because Kentucky already has the better big man NBA prospect.

Gonna be? ISN'T.

Last night was the first time I almost felt sorry for Kobe Bryant.

Almost.

Just based on Athleticism alone you'd say the same about tons of big guys over Duncan

Duncan was a pretty great athlete in his prime imo.

76ers gonna get Okafor in the next draft. Then after 2015-16 they'll sign Jimmy Butler to start at SG, and then shock the world by

Spoiler:
convincing Kobe Bryant to "come home to Philly" by taking a reasonable contract and becoming an elite 6th man scorer.

PG: MCW, Wroten
Wings: Butler, KJ, Kobe
SF/PF tweener: Saric
Bigs: Noel, Embiid, Okafor

11-15-2014 , 07:00 PM
Very unrealistic imo -- Kobe's not coming off the bench.
11-15-2014 , 07:32 PM
Very much doubt KJ is a Sixer next year.

He is showing that his 1 year deal is smart and hes going to get paid somewhere on a team that can win more than 10 games. He'd have to really buy into what the Sixers are doing to stay
11-15-2014 , 07:43 PM
He is Restricted
11-15-2014 , 07:57 PM
I don't think Hinkie would match any kind of offer sheet. Can't afford to have actual NBA players on the roster.
11-15-2014 , 08:12 PM
Prediction: KJ is gonna be the highest paid 2nd year player in the league next year
11-15-2014 , 08:19 PM
Ah the salary site I visited had him listed as unrestricted.

It will be interesting to see if they match. I wouldn't be surprised if they do since they seem to be pretty particular about what players they want to keep - if they think he will be a long-time starter I bet they would shell out some money, especially before the new CBA

KJ McDaniels should be a restricted free agent who is subject to the Gilbert Arenas provision.

yeah the mid-level exception is the most anyone can offer him during the first 2 years of his next contract and even that seems unlikely. i just can't see someone trying to pull off a parsons/lin/matthews type of RFA power move against the team with literally the most cap space in the league and basically no one on their roster who isn't on a rookie deal. no matter how big a deal you give KJ you can't put any kind of cap space pressure on the 76ers at all.
