I'd be fine with this, though I'd also be fine with no salary cap. I think most people would object that this favors the big markets too much.

Alas it was not meant to be, but keeping Asik and hoping a market for him pops up instead of taking on negative contracts and a ****ty draft pick
I'm going to play old man yells at cloud and say this could really be a locker-room distraction if they rely on Asik to play 10 minutes a game or whatever. And if they don't, they are leaving wins on the table.

I really don't think Morey is factoring this into his equation, but he should be.

I don't think crybaby Asik is going to hurt the lockerroom because the team will likely just isolate him and not give a **** since they're mostly young black americans and he's a whining bitch from Turkey.

Dwight will surpass him as locker room cancer soon enough anyway.

Is Bass/Lee even an upgrade for them? I'm not sure they are so I'm not buying the leaving Wins in the table agreement.

They seem to be doing fine with Omer being sad on the bench for the time being so I don't see why they shouldn't wait
12-19-2013 , 08:36 PM
There's no issue with them waiting but they 100% need to trade him so they don't have to pay him. There is some risk to waiting longer but there's no reason to think they can't always fall back on Bass+Lee, though AINGE is a wheeler and dealer.

What does TZ think of Khris Middleton? I think he has the chops to be a pretty good 3 and D guy in the right situation, but he's clearly not playing under said circumstances.

He's a good shooter but that's pretty much it. He has no handle and doesn't look like a good defender. He's an NBA player due to the shooting though.

So sick that this is the future Bulls lineup:

Rose, Butler, Jabari Parker, Mirotic, Noah

Make Rose the spark plug off the bench and you might have something there.

The schedule makers tonight had good intentions

pop saw the first game and sat timmy/manu to give fans a night off. he was quoted as saying "go watch jabari and levine tonight."

Middleton is a guy who I bring up frequently as a comparison to the "good" three and D guys on better teams. Like swap him and Danny Green, and I don't think it affects either team that much (with the caveat that I haven't watched him enough to know how well his D stands up, and also who knows how well he would do on D in a system where there's actually, you know, a system.)

I like their track "Arrows" a lot too, but it's not all that Robotanististic.
On first listen I didn't really hear it. I mean it's obviously not the most dissimilar music in the world, but the dryness of the production really distinguishes it from Robotanists stuff in my ear. But going back through I think I hear what changes you're referencing. It's easy for me to focus on the differences given how familiar I am with every little detail of our records, and I sometimes glance over more 'obvious' similarities.

Bulls murdering the rim on open shots right now.

BTW, another reason why Asik's value was higher in the offseason: training camp. If the guy is supposed to be your defensive anchor, and we're all sort of coming around to the notion that a lot of D is coaching/scheme, not having him for training camp (by FAR the most practice time teams have all season. Was it the Stevens interview where he said they've had full practices about 8 times since the season started?) hamstrings his ability to add value there. It's not like plugging in a guy whose primary job is to guard a guy. To compare to football, how much of the D does a cornerback need to know vs. an MLB? Asik is an MLB.
