New Pod up at my place of people are interested. Cleveland/Detroit firings, Lebron's last second shot/making someone else beat your, and a little bit about GSW's playoff stuff.

but if he's visibily shaken by these fouls, i honestly wonder how he reacts to guys being allowed to club him all the time in those clogged lanes.
LBJ didn't grow up in the Jordan rules era though - so he never really had to deal with guys clubbing him in the head. If he did I would assume he's big enough, athletic enough, and smart enough to adjust and just run over a lot of those guys. You're also not considering how much this hypothetical would help Lebron on defense. He'd probably be like Pippen on super steroids or something.

Brow commercial so, so good.

Boo Adam Silver. Adam Silver says ads on jerseys ‘ultimately will happen’.

Quote:
“We’re not close at the moment to including sponsors on jerseys,” Silver said. “It’s something that we’re continuing to look at. I believe it ultimately will happen in the NBA. I think it makes good business sense.”

Silver seems like the "business guy" not so much a commish who is looking to improving the game

I don't think having the jerseys sponspors-free damages the game. It barely bothers anyone (or is not meant to) to have a nike/adidas logo top left of the jersey or any minimal ad and it brings ton of revenues, i don't know how big but i imagine pretty big by comparison with soccer and i don't know either how this money will be distributed but i'd guess there will be enough money that can be used to really improve the game and have far more meaningful impacts than just an ad
02-16-2014 , 01:12 PM
i think ads are a good thing...
02-16-2014 , 01:22 PM
ads are fine. they really need to centralize replay though. too many time outs already. last 2 minutes of bball game takes 30 minutes these days

Chris, you gotta get rid of your signature

Ads will be good if it means less commercials

Unfortunately it PROBABLY wont, but it would be nice. Main thing is elimination of replays, or the central replay station, since those suck away the end game so much, when it's minutes of checking things followed by seconds of possession.
02-16-2014 , 03:39 PM
Not sure how you guys can argue jersey ads are a good thing (from the viewer's/our perspective), if it doesn't mean less commercial time (it won't). I guess you could argue it's neutral from the viewer's perspective, but that's not the same thing.

Meh, more money in the league can only help things. It's not like the ads distract from anything, I'm so used to them from soccer.

this. And wtf at getting all worried about logos in jerseys while playing in the Oracle Arena or the Staples Center
