Raptors going to lose this ONE TIME.

I just know its going to be some Pierce gay mating call top of the key jumper to win.

Boston is playing without the league MVP and its in Toronto, not a massive surprise Toronto won wtf

where are all the posts saying the celtics shouldn't lose to a team like the raptors

I love how Andrea Bargnani won the player of the game for Toronto. Let's recap his performance:
-2 rebounds in 39 minutes (Semih Erdan, the best backup 5th big off the bench in the league, got 2 boards in 11 minutes... Nate Robinson, who is a foot and a half shorter, played 4 fewer minutes and got twice as many boards)
-Didn't record a steal or block; got whistled for 5 fouls
-With the ball in his hands largely, was credited for just 1 assist

BUT HE SCORED 29 POINTS!!! ZOMG!

Well, he was 9-20 (2-6), 9-13. Also had 4 turnovers. In other words, used roughly 30 possessions, offered no offensive rebounding (Raptors rebounded 10 of 40 misses, for a 25% mark), recorded 11 misses (ppp in this game was roughly 1.1; about 3 bonus points) for a net rating of ~33 points in 30 possessions.

Boiled down, he was completely team and game average all the while providing absolutely nothing else. Yet this won player of the game since he was the team's leader in usage. That makes sense, right?

Well, not so fast. Ladies and Gentlemen, Amir Johnson:
In fewer then 2/3rds Il Mago's minutes, Amir got 11 boards (4 offensive, or was nearly all of Toronto's offensive rebounding for this game), had a block, and somehow dished out 2 assists (twice as many as Bargs) despite rarely having the ball in his hands. Oh, he didn't turn the ball over and went 4-5, 9-9. Yes, Amir is a beast, he didn't miss a FT; this is roughly 17 points on 9 possessions, for an INSANE efficiency regardless of the game. He was the true player of the game.

Rondo is the league MVP, that means he's > Wade, so his absence means more obv.

preaching to the choir man. The thing is, the Bargnani ballwashing is in overdrive by the media.

Within 2-3 weeks, as long as his ppg is 20+ (regardless of anything else), they are going to be hyping him for the all-star game during every broadcast.

An early, before it happens congratulations to the Miami Heat for their signing of their new young superstar.

Yeah, I know I'm preaching to the choir. Just so bizarre how everyone in Canada is totally drinking the Bargnani kool-aid. Dude is 1 dimensional, and not even that good at that dimension. Kevin Martin is at least super efficient, ya know?

At least they 've shown they have the capability of winning on any night. That alone should make them enjoyable enough to follow.

lol Celtics.

while watching the game, I thought it was just another lol ray allen ballhandling moment, but he very clearly got fouled by Barbosa. But still, lol Celtics. Shouldn't be coming to that one play anyway.

it's at least worth giving it a shot. If Maggette gives up any improvement on offense on the defensive end, then fine, let him sit. but give him a chance.
11-21-2010 , 07:33 PM
It's hard to believe that Maggette would be a net negative on a team as poor offensively as the Bucks.
11-21-2010 , 07:35 PM
DJ Mbenga is so awful. lol.
11-21-2010 , 07:37 PM
Willie Green so horrible too.

Can we really take a team that fields a Beno-Willie Green-Marcus Thornton-Jason Smith-DJ Mbenga 2nd unit a "serious contender"? I don't think so.
11-21-2010 , 07:38 PM
Jason Smith is 3/4 on the exact same midrange shot. You know, it actually looks good. He's gotta keep hitting at a high rate to make him worth anything, but he HAs hit it at a high clip so far.

beno?

MRI confirms LeBron's diagnosis. Ligament torn for Haslem. Good news for anti Heat people.
