Eric Dampier has been fantastic this year, but seriously, Oden is better for this year. Such a silly debate. (Meaning, yes, Dampier has played VVV well thus far, and if that were to continue, he'd be the better player this year, but I think it's a safe guess that he will regress whereas Oden will progress)

Fave 5 NBA Squads so far this year:

1. Charlotte- Gerald Wallace is a badass on every level
2. Houston- LDO
3. Suns- Nashty MVPx3
4. Sacramento- As many wins already as projected to have had by Feb 2010
5. Nets- Keepin it real and gritty

Hate 5 Teams:

1. T'Wolves- Haven't seen them play, but I heard Rambis is trying to run some sort of triangular offense. Look at your team homie.
2. Jazz- Haven't been this disappointed by something from Utah since my babysitter
3. Wizards- Such a tease
4. Central- We got some teams who've only played 5 games. Wtf get on the Knicks level. Oh and that Cavs team being barely above .500.
5. Hornets- Free Chris Paul one time?

I really don't think it's safe to guess that Oden will progress this year to anything more than he's shown so far. I mean it can happen, but it's definitely not right to assume so.

Also can you not see the absurdness of bragging about a grossly overpaid 34 year old center who has been an average player for the past 5 years?

Other than the expiring contract in 2011, why would anyone want Dampier and his salary on their team? He has zero upside and he is a waste of money.
I clearly posted that too show how bad Oden was, not how great Dampier was. I'm not going to get into it, but Dampier is not overpaid. Go have a gander at the Center market (especially when he was signed), find some articles about Dampier's free agent summer, and have a look at the Mavs pre-Dampier. Nothing about his contract has hindered the Mavs in any way and in fact, it actually gives them a plausible shot to go after a top free agent like LeBron with no cap room. Overpaid arguments should be reserved for the Matt Carroll/Larry Hughes of the world....you know...the players who add nothing and have gigantic long term deals.

Oden's upside has been touted for going on like 9 years. Can we see some of it please.

Another point is that Greg Oden is on an Erick Dampier career path, not a Tim Duncan or Hakeem Olajuwon one.

Almost punched the mother****er. I don't mind people arguing with we me, but once you blatantly disrespect me **** goes down hill fast imo.
I've been on the train since day 1, he's just so god damn likeable

Oden has shown ZERO flashes of the ability to have a 26/13 game with a couple blocks and not more than few fouls and 1 or 2 turnovers. Sorry, but if Oden is handling the ball as much as it takes to score 26 he's going to have 8 turnovers and foul out.

OK so thoughts on Stephen Jackson to Cavs for pennies on the dollar? I mean they have to get rid of him, but do the Cavs want to take on his contract or try to wait and get Bosh/Amar'e? Jackson/Parker/LeBron/Mo/ and any center provide a sick lineup, but I really think Cavs have a chance at a big name as well in offseason..ugghh

What have I done to TARNISH M ****ING REPUTUATION!? GOD AMNIT ODEN IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF TRASH THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN. GET IT?! GOT IT!? Really he had 5 fouls in 22 minutes, let's look at his games so far this season

1. 2/12 with 12 combined TOs/fouls
2. 6/9 with 6
3. 6/9 with 7
4. 12/10 with 7
5. 8/9 with 8
6. 14/8 with 7
7. 11/4 with 1

8. And yes 14/6 is alright for Mr. Greg Moron but really 5 fouls in 22 minutes? He has had 5 fouls in around 20 minutes almost EVERY game this season. That or multiple turnovers, he sucks. Bad. I do submit he rebounds and blocks at an ABSURD rate for the amount of time he plays. Too bad he'll never be able to play more than 25 minutes or he'd foul out and he plays inconsistent minutes for your team thereby being able to help them far less than his abilities say he can.

Hey I think the Cavs should get Shaq because all they have to give up are pennies on the dollar. Thoughts?

lol. Oh and Dampier is far superior to Oden this season at least, but otherwise I'd rather have Oden if only because he's younger and has the potential to reach his sick peak of 12/10/2 with only 4 fouls and 3 turnovers a game, a peak Dampier can only dream of over a full season.
