So, it's definitely getting a bit ahead of ourselves, but what is wrong about considering the Suns a factor? It was not two years ago they were considered title contenders and they have maintained the core of Nash, Stoudemire, Barbosa while adding Richardson, and Hill is just ridiculous. Sprinkle in Dread Pirate Roberts and the hilariously underrated Jared Dudley and they have a bench for once.

I still predict a 4th-5th seed for them at best and a first round exit, but everyone was writing them off when Amare should be just as good, so should Hill, Richardson, and Barbosa, and Nash is still representing. They're old though thus injury prone. Then again so are the Spurs. Fact is, they're not that much different than the contender teams. It's more a matter of how good their competition is as far as how they fare.

I see I made a wise decision to go take care of some shopping needs during the 3rd Q. good lord.

And CP3s insane shooting continues. This is a really remarkable run he's on.

blazers would be contenders with Nash instead of Miller?

Contenders, sure. Tons of regular season wins, probably. Legitimate NBA Finals contenders, no, and for the same reasons they couldn't get through in years past.

The only thing I'd disagree with in this post is that I think you're overrating Hill a little bit. I'm also not sure if Richardson is capable of sustaining how good he's been so far. It'd be pretty miraculous for them to stay healthy. I think your point about the Spurs is fair. I don't consider the Spurs to be contenders either though.

Probably. That's an upgrade to an already brink contender.

Not sure what you're referring to here. Bull**** suspensions from the league office, or really unfortunate ill-timed injuries? Assuming you're referring to one of the two and neither are a given this year obv.

What does "Contenders, sure.. Legit NBA final contenders, no" even mean?

tud,

they can make some noise for sure, but they've run a little hot, both in terms of guys playing above their head and their current record being ahead of their pyth. J-Rich isn't going to be a +.600 TS% guy, I promise you. Dragic isn't some 18 PER stud backup PG (I was actually quite surprised to see this, as I thought he played poorly when I saw him). I'm not sold Frye can keep this up all year, either, but I'm leaning towards yes, albeit not quite as efficient.

I mean, they have 7 guys over .600 TS% (counting Fagic's .598). That's nuts.
