I think it'd be fun to live CZ a college basketball game and just have lots of jokes

So we're driving straight from DAL->SA, with a stop in Austin during the afternoon/early evening. I know we're missing the night scene and all but that's just how it is. So where do we go? What's the "cool" neighborhood(s) to check out?

basically, where da bitches at.
South Congress is for yuppies, 6th is for frats. Red River between 10th and 6th is more up your alley, i bet.

If you're just there for afternoon it probably doesn't really matter. Use yelp or something for a good place to grub

I was doing some light TZing here and there, probably read about 1.5k posts while on vacation.

Yes, that is light TZing.

I remember one of the guys I was with wanted to try Stubbs BBQ because it was world famous or something. Every local told us not to go there though, and that it's really overrated and just a tourist place at this point. We ended up going to some hole-in-the-wall bbq place that came highly recommended. The place was so ****ty that I was sure the food had to be amazing, however I was really let down. We all wished we kinda just went to Stubbs at that point. Not sure what the moral of this story is. I don't even like bbq food.

stubbs, nothing special

salt lick is super great.

kc, if you're just looking for lunch/drinks, try the iron cactus. pretty good grub, good drinks, and an amazing deck overlooking 6th street. Plus, it's super nice outside.

Not excited about the prospects for NBAing tonight. Heat/Bulls and Clippers/Rockets are both pretty blah games and Mavs/Blazers while possibly good just doesn't have me excited either for some reason. Likely due to it being the late game, and my schedule not being friendly to late games currently.

Thinking the same, probably flip between college games and nbc thursday night lineup.

Yeah NBC Thursdays rule, though I usually just catch everything on Hulu. Community has become my favorite comedy show on TV.

agree that italian food and chinese food are clearly better than bbq and anyone arguing otherwise needs to get their taste buds checked but bbq is still good imo

I eat bbq if its just like a hotdog or hamburger or something, but I hate when they overcook it and its just like full of char. I prefer ketchup to bbq sauce too.

Agreed(although Parks & Rec has been killing lately and may be better), got pretty sweet value on it in the TV show draft imo. Was able to recreate the current Thursday night NBC lineup minus 30 rock and replaced by 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Yeah, I think people questioned it's longevity at the time, and that's still a concern I guess, but the show has been consistently great so far. I haven't even seen every episode.

This is not bbq imo, maybe just a difference in terminology. I see epi agrees with you too, which makes me think maybe this is a northeastern thing. I mean, I don't exactly think good bbq when I think of that area of the country. Have you ever tried some midwestern or southern bbq?

You eat hot dogs and hamburgers at a BBQ. They are not BBQ food though. Big difference.
