On a similar note, was thinking about it, 2007-2008 were the best playoffs ever?
BTW, I wasn't really arguing Denver was that much better. I'm somewhere in between on that. Just pointing out your reply looked biased, and that it's easy to argue it both ways imo.

Some idiot that I met last night asserted that essentially all the best guitarists of all time were from England. He then told me Jimi Hendrix was English and that he had no idea who Duane Allman was.

His argument was essentially CLAPTON. PAGE. WHAT UP.

sounds like a moron. I would have stopped talking to him after he claimed Jimi was English.

Voodoo Child ftw imo.

I do think that Sloan is one of the best coaches in the game, has to be up there with Pop and Phil anyway. Deron Williams is obviously awesome, Boozer is really good but seems like a jerk, Okur is cool, and Millsap is on my fantasy team. Yeah, not bad...

Yeah the Grizz were awful, 101-359 over 6 seasons, a high of 23 wins in the final season. Won just under 22% of their games.

Can't root for the Raps, can't do it. They were basically the only thing the Grizz ever had that resembled a rival, it'd be like going over to the dark side. Granted Vince is long gone, and I probably will see more Raps games than any other team this year, but I won't be happy about it.

Yeah they fit nicely, except for the fact that Shinn and Scott* seem like DB's.

Very nice writeup and reasoning.

I should have been more clear that few of those guidelines were 100% dealbreakers, but the Rockets do fit the criteria pretty well.

Two votes for Rockets.

tbh, I was thinking Rockets and Clippers before I started, but didn't want to say anything to bias the responses. Problem with the Clips are that Sterling seems like a jackass, and Dunleavy might not be a good coach. Would be nice to get on this bandwagon now, in the oft chance they do sign Lebron next summer.

And going with the Rockets or Clippers gives me coverage from Simmons (who I read and listen to), as he's buddy's with the GM of one team, and a season ticket holder of the other.

Kinda like Dallas too because of Cuban, but they might be too good. Then again, I also don't like them because of Cuban, and how he did Nash, of all people. Or I could just puss out and go for the Suns, but their owner seems like a cheapskate...

Thanks to all for their input. No final decision has been made yet, so if anyone else wants to try and sway me still, have at it.

Cheers!

FWIW, I don't think you can choose Houston because they facilitated Franchise's douchebaggery to the Grizz

I also think that Philly or the Heat would be good choices, although Philly doesn't look like it's gonna be any good any soon and the Heat probably have the worst fans (lol the whiteout). The Bulls wouldn't be bad because Rose is fun to watch and Vinny Del Negro is a good guy, management seems good. That's what almost caused me not to suggest the Clippers, Sterling blows. Also, besides Boom Dizz none of the players have any personality. New Jersey seems like too much of a bandwagon pick (first time ever said about a team that has a real good shot at the worst record in the league?)

If it were me, now that I put some real consideration on it, I would go:

1. Houston
2. Chicago
3. LAC
4. New Jersey
5. Miami

Good point. They really raped us on that one, and one of the things that helped spell the downfall of the franchise (pun intended).

- The Vancouver Grizzlies trade Steve Francis & Tony Massenburg to the Houston Rockets
- The Houston Rockets trade Antoine Carr, Michael Dickerson, Othella Harrington, Brent Price and a 2003 1st round draft pick to the Vancouver Grizzlies
- The Orlando Magic traded a 2002 2nd round draft pick to the Vancouver Grizzlies.

Points taken. New Jersey has a bandwagon, really? I forgot that I was thinking about them as well because of their Russian billionaire owner. I already support Chelsea in the English Premier League, who have a Russian billionaire owner.

a little anecdote from yesterday:
I'm in the BOA in harvard sq. depositing a check. there's a guy in a suit, maybe 5'7, looks foreign. is eating a lollipop. our eyes meet, and we do the thing where you both nod at each other, as though saying "no, you can go ahead", since no one else was in line. he makes some weird gestures, and tries speaking, with the lollipop in his mouth. So I just blurt out, "hahahah ok lollipop". and go ahead of him.

I don't get his take on the C's either. Wallace has the most notorious on/off switch outside of Vince Carter. Let's see a few games before we call him washed up (although these days he does look like he should be chairing the African Studies department at some university). Simmons loved to lament the loss of Posey and I don't see how Wallace will be anything other than Posey+.

DirecTV has NBATV on its basic package and runs unedited Deadwood on their own channel (along with Oz, Trailer Park Boys, and some pretty decent concerts). I never thought I'd be happy to have DirecTV but I am.

I'm jealous I didn't make this point about transition offense. Tommy is such a contrast to national announcers who give you nothing more than, "You can't give up easy buckets!"
