To me the 80s will always be the best and toughest era in basketball, an era where you were still allowed to play real defense, an era that forged the greatest team in NBA history, the 1989 Detroit Pistons............until KD ruined the league and went to the Warriors. Michael Jordan never would've become the goat if he didn't start out playing in that decade. Michael Jordan was the greatest competitor and leader in sports history, and the mentally toughest player to ever play in this league becuz of the teams he played in the 80s.

I guess that's why the Hawks won the east without a legit allstar a few years ago.

All I'm saying about the 80s is those guys would put today's players on their asses if they came into the key with that. Mmm-hmm.

Stuff like this is silly though. The rules for ejections and flagrants are so much more stringent now that if you transported an 80s player today they’d likely get suspended for some of the crap they let fly. Similarly if you let some of the giant dudes from now pull that crap in the 80s I don’t think it would be the biggest issue.

Getting here and winning are different things, and they still haven't won. I expected to get here regardless of injuries but expected to lose pretty bad in the series. That is before they bullied Philly tho, and I was not really a Brad Believer.

Also believe series lines have been pretty awful wrt Celtics -370 phi was obviously pure recency bias and philly ridiculously overrated.

So I don't watch too much of the GSW--they're on too late and they normally win so why watch.

A few questions comparing last years team rotation with this years team rotation.

Last year West, Zaza/McGee played a lot more. Why are we seeing more Looney? Is he better on switches? All three of the guys stats look fine, why aren't they seeing play? Are they hurt? Matchup issues?

How bad is Nick Young? Why is he seeing the court? McCaw can't be much worse than him.

Is Houston just better than other squads GSW has gone against or are injuries finally catching up with GSW? Iggy and now Thompson is huge.

GSW could definitely still win this series but GSW looks much less invincible this year.
