Bosh: "We have nothing to lose tonight."

Everyone not named LeBron James in a Heat jersey is so unbelievably shook it's sad. So much for not being just "another team."

Probably not. Refs are almost certainly biased a little for the home team and probably a little for the best players, but reffing basketball is hard and some people do it better than others.

That said, after the news broke that a former NBA ref had been caught gambling on games he worked and making calls to influence those games, people were rightly skeptical. That referee also said that it was common for the NBA to ask refs to "watch" for certain things in important games that would likely favor one team or another, though that has yet to be proven.

Hypothetical fantasy: You have the choice between 1) going to work for 8 hours or 2) getting head from some decent looking guy and then doing whatever you want for the rest of the day.

Anyone who chooses 1) is definitely homophobic.
It's the same thing as crossing the street when you see a group of 5 blacks walking towards you. I know I would and I'm majorly prejudiced against blacks. But the keyboard cowboys on here would post one thing and do another.

Floor spacing will be key since there are going to be so many players on the court at once, so I'd leave Hill out there the whole game, and play zone on defense. Thoughts?

I like Roy, I liked the rest of the press conference and I thought his apology was sincere. I'm not going to hold it against him, but you shouldn't pretend that it was an appropriate thing to say in 2013.

Edit: I also think suspending him for that would be insane. He should get a fine, but no more.
Lol no. It's a clarification deal more than anything.

Battier might not even see the court. He only played 5 minutes last game, and that was with Joel Anthony being the first big off the bench. With Birdman available, there's really no reason to play him at all.

The "rigged" posts itt tonight are going to be numerous. I'm not sure which I would enjoy more, a Heat win by 1, or a Heat blowout win. Either way, the sound of jimmies being rustled will be deafening.

Heat obviously going to jump out to a 20 point lead then the refs going to rustle the universe's jimmies and bring the Pacers back or Floyd Mayweather is confirmed busto shortly after the game due to in game betting.

The Heat should play the birdman 24 minutes. Might even play Mike Miller 12 minutes.

He could be used properly and take ray Allen's minutes as opposed to being a power forward lospo

of course they dont NEED help but in case they do theyre obv gonna get it

this will factually be the most rigged game since lakers/kings

and im not saying rigged in the sense that the refs might have a bias towards giving miami's superstars the superstar home-calls.

I'm saying David Stern has personally and explicitly ordered the referees to make sure the Miami Heat win the game. Not even hinted at it. Told them their jobs are on the line tonight.

Why do so many people think it will be rigged for the heat when that hasn't been the case throughout this series?

Isn't this the ref who was constantly in touch with Donaghy or something and is widely seen as a rigging machine?

Because the Spurs swept so they needed this to go to 7 and tonight is when they cash out.

One of the refs for tonight's game took 134 calls from the nba ref described above. here's a day in the life of the guy reffing tonight's game, foster:

Quote:
Donaghy’s calls to Foster took place immediately before and after games Donaghy was officiating 54 times.

The initial report showed the following call log from the day of Dec. 30, 2006:

10:34 a.m. – Donaghy calls Foster.
10:35 a.m. – Donaghy calls another referee.
10:36 a.m. – Donaghy calls [Thomas] Martino, the “middleman” between him and his bookie.
10:39 a.m. – Donaghy calls Foster.
5:15 p.m. – Donaghy calls Martino.
5:23 p.m. – Donaghy calls Martino.
7 p.m. – Donaghy referees game between the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic. The Magic win in a rout, 97-68.
8 p.m. – Foster referees a game between the Toronto Raptors and the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis. The Grizzlies win 110-104. Foster and Donaghy speak 12 minutes after the game.
11:27 p.m. – Foster and Donaghy speak for at least the fourth time of the day.
11:38 p.m. – Foster and Donaghy speak for at least the fifth time of the day.
if the ball is as good as everyone seems to think it is, why is the nba down with this?
