Stephen A Smith & Charles Barkley BOTH said he needs to beat GS to pass Kobe. A huge % of casuals agree with that. He is massively underrated. Jesus some people don't think he's a better basketball player than Larry Bird. Maybe he's overrated in TZ, but he's still underrated by the large majority of people.

GS will probably be something like -250ish

Quite a bit of time between now and game 1 to break that one down.

Haven't we been through most of this stuff before though?

LeBron's game just isn't quite as aesthetically pleasing to the average fan as someone like Bird or Kobe or even Durant/Curry.

And that is just offensively, then add in stuff like every aspect of defense which casual fans don't care about either.

Scottie Pippen also said Kobe > LeBron recently as well.

So..you agree with me? Who cares why it is, it's an idiotic opinion to have. Maybe you didn't see the post I was responding to, but someone was laughing at the notion that LeBron is underrated. He clearly is by the casuals/media.

I hate the guy but if Lebron beats this GS team, I don't think there is any doubt he is the GOAT

I dunno what ESPN/FS1 and the rest of NBA media is gonna do when LeBron retires though.

Let's just say they've kinda beaten into the ground all talk about his legacy.

No player has had his legacy debated even 1/10th as much as LeBron.

Yeah, I guess he is underrated.

Some of it for the reasons I mentioned, some of it because people hate him and can't be rational about him, etc

Watching the post game on the C's network and they are showing the post game hand shakes again. The only player that looks pissed about the loss is AB. Slightly annoyed that others are smiling and joking around.

Let's keep in mind, LeBron talk takes up a lot of time on the airwaves. So various takes have to flow to keep that going. Many of them will be bad.

What else are they gonna talk about?

hahahaha what perfect timing for that discussion. cliffs, Chucks GOAT list:

1) MJ
2) Oscar Robertson
3) Wilt
4) Russell
5) KAJ
6) Kobe
7) LeBron

Just legit the dumbest most nonsensical thing I've ever heard. Kenny Smith's reaction? "I like it." Can't even fathom how mad I'd be if I was Shaq

Speaking of underrated, it's really incredible how underrated the Warriors are. A team that won 73 games added Kevin ****ing Durant. And people just kinda scoff it off like he's just some great scorer. We've seen great players play together, we've never seen 4 guys in the dead heat of their prime who mesh together and are coached this well on the same team. Durant and Steph are all time greats, Klay and Dramond are perfect compliments to them. This could very well be the best basketball team of all time.

Whatever the price is is too low IMO

It's clearly the best basketball team OAT. It likely was before Durant.

People just don't know how to navigate recency bias. They assume because it's recent, it can't be legit. It's all an overcorrection.

The best basketball team OAT can still be beaten, this is the disconnect that people have beyond all else.

tbf, that list is bad but it's still prbly above average.

lol Bird/Magic

btw Klay = better Reggie and prbly comparable (and imo superior) to Ray if I haven't made that abundantly clear in the past

I got

T1 ) LBJ & MJ (I'd take LBJ all day every day but afa careers are concerned it's a wash)
big gap
3) KAJ
4) Jokic

I separate bigs and all else but I currently (barely) have KAJ as GOAT big so we are in agreement Dood. I've posted to this effect in the past as well.

I waffle between KAJ and Wilt day to day basically. Hakeem was great. I put all of them above Shaq, peak be damned. I have Duncan above Shaq as well.

In a dynasty fantasy draft I prbly have it:

Wilt
Bron
MJ
KAJ
Duncan
Hakeem

So I lied, yes.

Ehh Shaq would ruin everyone in his prime tho. And it isn't like his non-prime wasn't elite too.

I got MJ/Bron/Shaq top 3 OAT. And that is just a player ability thing, not based on resume/career/circumstance/etc. Just vs aliens.

Obviously some guys had better careers (Duncan), some guys had more significance to the league (Bird, Magic, Kobe) but Shaq's the best big ever I think. The 2001 Shaq no other big is outplaying I don't think.

Jokic I doubt ever makes my top 50. Nurk tho...
