Whatever people said, the odds didn't reflect any "NBA is ruined" narrative, Heat weren't ever big favs to win the title like GS is.

2013 they may have been favs vs the field before playoffs started, that's the team that won 27 in a row or w/e it was, added Ray/Birdman from year before.

GS is -250 to win it all, maybe that isn't even very high compared to some of the rhetoric, but it is much higher than Heat ever were at this juncture of the playoffs.

Settle down.
Hi Geoff! I'm definitely a Lakers fan and will happily root for them to beat GS. However, I still enjoy NBAing when the Lakers are irrelevant, and I want nothing more than to see GS/Cle in the finals this year.

As stated previously, I already knew I'd be rooting for whichever team lost in the finals last year because of the amount of dumb **** people would spew about the losing team. Something something 73 win GS overrated, something something little guys, something something 90s Bulls were better. Or, if GS had won, something something Lebron isn't as good as MJ, something something Lebron chokes in the finals again, lol Cleveland again. KD going to GS was icing on the cake, due to the amount of hate he's gotten on this forum at times.

None of the criticism really means that much in the grand scheme of things of course, but it makes rooting for the team that lost last year that much more enjoyable for me, even though there is the potential that Cle gets to the finals and beats GS again, because Lebron is literally amazing.

(You do seem a bit frustrated though)

Not trying to be a dick, but you really choose who you root for based on what mainstream media narratives and what idiots like Skip Bayless say?

I'd try to tune that mindless jibber jabber out.

Excluding the Lakers, who I root for is situation dependent. Not to be a dick, but what you consider mindless jibber jabber is part of what it makes interesting for me. To each their own and all, know what I mean? That being said, if Memphis were in the playoffs I'd root for them over GS and everyone else in the playoffs.

Two reasons for that:

(1) It's a blue collar town and Zach Randolph is a blue collar player.
(2) Heart Grit Grind

Key piece of narrative you're all missing at the moment is how insufferable the team's personalities are. Draymond, obviously. KD's skinny ankles irritate me and he does the fake tough/fierce thing somebody mentioned. Curry is just the WOAT, mouth guard and the schmucky swagger of a 13 year old rich kid who thinks he's "hard".

Lacob is again obvious; you think that good things should happen to an out-of-touch piece of **** Silicon Valley venture capitalist who thinks his team is "light years ahead" with luck not playing any role at all? A guy who thinks that he's a +EV casino blackjack player?

Kerr and Klay are the only ones I hope are spared when the earthquake kills most of us.

"Just enjoy it" is such ridiculousness. Rather than having playoffs, why not just choose 12 All-Stars and have them play a few scrimmages against the D-league? Or better yet, have them play 4 7-game series against top high school teams. That way we can truly see "great basketball" domination.

I think I'd get more rooting satisfaction in the hot takers being proven wrong if they actually were humbled and/or reassessed their thought process and decided to have opinions that aren't so sensationalized.

Unfortunately that won't happen, because then they wouldn't be on TV/radio/etc

Whenever their opinions are wrong they do 1 of 2 things

1. Move onto the next awful take

2. Compare said player they railed against to Michael Jordan. That's always the thing to do once Kobe or LeBron makes you look like an idiot. Just move the goal posts and say they aren't MJ.

Ehh, don't see Pop paying a 31 y/o George Hill 22 mill a year or w/e it'll be.

Would be a great fit tho

I heard Pop loved George Hill when he was on the team, like he was his son or something.

It’s no secret how much George Hill and Gregg Popovich care about one another. They stay in touch, make a point to follow what the other is doing throughout a busy NBA season and offer words of encouragement.

Spurs won't have the money to pay Hill what he's worth. They also need to pay Mills (bench shooting is fundamental).

The Warriors only competition is the same as last year-injures to the goat and several key pieces, Silver, the refs, shooting way under expectation.

It all has to happen at the same time for another chance at a one outer.

Really mad right up to game 7 of the finals, then it got better for some reason

Needed to add a top 3-4 player itl or an injury to the other teams 2nd and 3rd best players to win titles.

What is there to be mad about?

If KD doesn't sign there, then I might have to explain to people in 20 years that LeBron was better than Curry. Now that conversation has no chance of needing to take place, unless you're talking with a real mouthbreather. It's a positive development.

Life is great as a woyas hater, no matter what happens we'll always get to remember them blowing a finals 3-1 lead in embarassing fashion, it's a complete freeroll from there

Perhaps Hill will give Spurs the Coach Pop discount!

Trade TP to Philly for cash/some picks whatever they have. sign chris paul ==> profit

it is criminal that Kiwi's prime is wasted due to the spurs paying 35 years old TP & Pau a combined 30M

He is 31 and it's his last chance at a decent-sized contract.

Obviously, the Spurs are never trading Parker to anyone. We both know this.

I also think that they shouldn't. Even if he's completely done, you do not treat your legends this way.
