So MPJr might be good. That's the first time I've seen him play like, ever, where he wasn't trying to hijack every possession and take long 2's. 6/7 in 12 minutes with the lone miss being a C&S 3.

I am intrigued.

Also please extend Malik Beasley like now.

4th quarter. of course, brad has to be a mr. serious coach and not play tacko...yet. theis, poirier, kanter, grant williams...sure! but can't give tacko a run at his homecoming in Florida? yet. still hope.

uh oh! big tacko fall checks in!!

they dont dare enter the paint on first possession. markelle fultz or whatever guns a 3. tacko one hand rebound. on offense, they grab his arms, draws the foul. 311lbs hard to handle...another bound, offensive...misses follow.

double teamed him. great read. cross court pass, leads to easy layup.

ok commercial. after 2 mins, per 36 he is 36 rebounds and plus 36...

back. they keep doubling. he passed out of it and g williams hits a 3. tacko gets the assist. reminds folks of young bob cousy.

and that's the game.

Has Morey exposed a chink in the NBA’s armor?

The letter says the whole thing imo.

Do the right thing, Silver, and we have a legit great moment in history here.
Letter is not wrong, but the Republicans signing it are basically pulling a Kerr. They're happy to dunk on China, but guess what happens if you ask them to sign a similar letter on kneeling for the National Anthem

None of them are ever going to do that even though they're all smart enough to know it's constitutionally protected freedom of expression. They would never do it because it would cost them thousands of deplorable votes. And they like power.

Kerr's in the same spot. Despite his "Gee, I just don't know guys". He knows that China doesn't give a **** about human rights and that Morey shouldn't be punished for alluding to that. He won't say it because it will ultimately cost him money. And he likes money.

This doesn't take away from Kerr's criticisms of Trump. They're all valid. And it's helpful that people in positions like his say those kinds of things. However, I'm going to think less of a Kerr that won't criticize China in this spot than of a Kerr that does. That's all. Doesn't make his criticism of Trump any less valid.

This isn’t about Trump or even China, it’s about Kerr’s putting money, convenience, running with the herd, whatever you want to call it, over truth.

It should definitely be something to consider when judging Kerr as an authority on anything. To argue otherwise is to be part of the problem.

Game 6.
Bucks lead by 15 with 3:31 to play in the 3rd.
Raptors tie the game 1:30 into the 4th

I'm not sure that being an "authority on" something means what you think it means.

Someone could be an authority on human rights violations in China and choose not to speak out. Or they could speak out. Whether Kerr does or not has nothing to do with whether or not Kerr is an authority on China (he obviously isn't) or anything else.

The two things are independent of one another.

Kerr seems to be getting a lot of **** itt because he wants to speak about local politics but not foreign.

Every other NBA player/coach is exactly the same fwiw.

Lots of them have spoken out against Trump but not China.

Its unfortunate the NBA has been put in this position. People arent calling for a boycott of Apple etc.

I think its a matter of picking battles that are true to the lives of NBA players (Domestic and Philanthropic) vs picking up a geopolitical battle that will damage business interests. Just because someone doesn't give vocal support to every injustice does not mean they are blind or care only about money. Its quite unreasonable to want a professional sports league to opine heavily and make stances on international issues. Kanter can rail against Turkey but the front offices are not going to put their hand into that mess. Does not mean they don't support him privately. I don't think they are arrogant enough to think they are engines of all positive social change, they focus on sports management not geopolitical quagmires.

Celtics are converting 7-foot-6 rookie Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, league sources tell ESPN. He will spend most of his season developing with G-League affiliate Maine, but can spend up to 45 days with Celtics in NBA.
not great news. at least tacko is getting this minimal amount of respect.

Even with only a 4 game preseason, the Cavs are doing load management on one of their tiny handful of nationally televised games so they can't even give me the tiny satisfaction of watching them win in a meaningless game.

It’s a naive post. If you don’t think Kerr or Pop not speaking out against China isn’t 100% about the money China has in the NBA than you are living in LaLa land. Kerr, Pop, Bron Bron are so quick to speak out on issues in the US where there is no threat to the NBAs bottom dollar, but then they curl up in the fetal position and plead the 5th when dollars become part of the discussion.

This is always what they were going to do if he showed any sort of promise.

Now that they have his contract situation locked down, they are going to go about figuring what their actual center rotation will be. I think it will be Kanter as a bench unit scorer and Theis as the starter. They need to find out if Poirier or Williams is their solution for when Kanter's defense is killing the team or Theis is too small.

wait you think lebron and kerr and Pop criticizing Trump and Fox news has no impact on the nba's bottom line? like, just bc your dear leader can get away with totally making crap up doesnt mean that you wont look like an idiot to ppl with half a clue.
