I guess they figured since they got one injury prone 7 footer they can cut bait with the other.

Celtics lost that trade but rw doesn't seem to fit with their offensive scheme

I think the bucks will crush the celtics inside. I don't think Porzingas will do well in that matchup.

Boston have been consistently stopping Embiid. although now that he's freed from french WIL, it might be a different story

Luka putting a casual 25pts in 16min in a preseason game vs wolves

Embiid will stop Embiid, sadly. So boston will probably eek out a close one again if they play in the playoffs.

I have no idea what boston will do in a front court matchup with the Bucks. On offense Porzingas can bring Brook away from the basket. I am guessing that he won't defend well enough to stay on the court.

A healthy Bucks team will be in the Finals guaranteed along with the Suns for a fantastic Finals matchup of evenly-matched, stacked teams.

However, the reality is that guys like Lillard and Giannis should get a "franchise" label and franchise players should not be allowed to play on the same team - it ultimately weakens the league by shocking the natural competitive balance and forcing rivals to follow suit and team up with other franchise players.. It also makes it impossible to compare franchise players that teamed up to guys that haven't.

Rather than team up, it's better to develop and learn the fits, chemistry and strategy it takes to win organically like the Nuggets, Bucks, Warriors or Spurs did in the last decade.. It's remarkable that organic chemistry and strategy development (real basketball) shines through over a talent-based methodology (teaming up), which lacks real chemistry and basketball - teaming up is reserved for players that lack the brand of ball for organic chemistry and strategy, or players that need to copy-cat a first-mover in the collusion space.

The same way they were before?

Robert Williams III wasn't they guy playing defense against either Embiid or Giannis.

Grant Williams played some respectable defense against both but that was coming off the bench. He will be missed in that role though.

The WNBA has awarded an expansion team to the San Francisco Bay Area. The new team will be owned and operated by the same group that runs the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
The WNBA will add a second expansion team as well, but they haven't announced where that team will be located. Portland, Oregon is believed to be the leader to land that second team.
The WNBA has had record viewership and attendance this season. Several games throughout the regular season and playoffs have been the most viewed in the league's history.

I like to watch women’s college volleyball and softball but I still haven’t come around to watching basketball (incl the wnba), it’s likely I never will.

Is the sport really gaining in popularity?

Yes it is. Major crowds for playoff games with fans really getting into it. With the Liberty being great this year has helped ratings too.

Knicks trade Rumors!

Embiid already not happy with the offseason and Harden is on his way to the Clippers pretty soon I think. Embiid may demand out sooner rather than later... and he wants to play in NY.

Trade Details

New York Knicks Receive: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Julius Randle, Quentin Grimes, Mitchell Robinson, 2024 Mavericks First-Round Pick (1-10 Protected), 2025 Bucks First-Round Pick (1-4 Protected), 2026 Knicks First-Round Pick, 2028 Knicks First-Round Pick, 2030 Knicks First-Round Pick

--------------------------------------

Knicks might be ready to go after Zion as well who's actually jacked for once. They inquired into him this offseason with Pelicans. He's worth the risk imo if you don't have to give up too much for him. He's been lights out fantastic when healthy and he'll be super motivated to play in the MECCA and alongside his brother from another mother RJ.

I see Randle/Quickley/2024 1st/2025 1st getting a deal done. Pelicans get their PG of the future and Randle is a reliable go-hard All NBA player for them in the regular season.

I've also heard rumors that Knicks are quite interested in the Twolves' Jaden McDaniels. He'd be a nice fit on the Knicks as he can guard 1-4, shooting 51.7% FG and 39.8% from 3 on 3.4 attempts/game.

So the Sixers lose the MVP for the right to play Julius 30M/year and then give him a fat contract in 2 years when he's 30+

And a bunch of picks from the teams that will have Embiid & Giannis

every time aim posts knackz "rumours" it's literally that scene in seinfeld where george is talking about how he figured out how to trade for peak bonds and griffey without giving up anything

you'd figure he might learn given how they haven't had a good player in like 30 years, but
