Wooo, Pacers get 32 as well due to some goofy convoluted math (would've been 50 if SA didn't jump HOU)

He was so rigged to the Spurs.

Pop is 74. I say he coaches another 10 years now.

Victor was super happy the Spurs got the #1 pick.

I wonder if the Spurs will make some win now moves.

Pairing Victor with Jeremy Sochan... Teams might not score 100ppg vs them during the regular season.

I don’t blame him. That’s exponentially better than being a Hornet.

My guess is they could move Hawks future picks + someone to land a capable vet.

Denver makes playing offense look absurdly easy. It's amazing to watch when they have it rolling.

8 pts, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and two blocks in the first ten minutes for Jokic. So much for AD being his kryptonite.

Those series I outlined as dogs '03 (0-3, got up 3-1 as an 8th seed), '08 (1-1, he wins the title and its .500 in this spot), '09 (0-2), '10 (run to NBA finals and lose in 4th Q of gm 7 but 2-4 record), '12 (0-2, run into LeBron apex game), '15 (1-3), '23 (0-2, despite starting the series as +400 vs the team favored to win it all)

So in these series where his team is a dog, in series clinching games he is 4-17. That's gotta be a major outlier for a coach to have 21 game clinching games as a series underdog in that many seasons. It just doesn't happen that often in the sport. Feel free to correct any math that is wrong.....Obviously 4-17 is pathetic, but his team overachieved to get to those games in most of those series, seems kinda unfair to say that is an indictment on him for overachieving.
Again, I'm not really sure what you're trying to do here - this doesn't mean a ton without examining the baseline (i.e. given the odds, how many times was his team expected to get to 3 wins in a series). Also, Doc was the betting underdog in a lot of series where he had the better team (08 and 10 for instance) - you can't attribute overperforming the betting line to the coach, because the coaching performance is baked into the betting line.

Also, even accepting your premise, 4-17 as the underdog in clinching games and 13-16 as the favorite is mindbogglingly bad. Also, you talk about injury luck but getting taken to 7 games by terrible teams early in the playoffs are going to have negative injury consequences over time.

I think he's one of the worst head coaches in the game at this point. Coaching has never been better in the NBA and older head coaches that insist on doing things their way are increasingly falling behind those that know how to work with the front office, analytics staff and other experts. Because the help is so much better, there's more parity in terms of head-coaching, but this also means not properly understanding and utilizing available resources can easily make your team light-years behind.

Is this string bean an impact guy from day one? Or is he gonna be like year 1-2 KD and just chuck it? Hopefully he’s good in time for the debut of the Austin Spurs
