Reports conflict on whether restricted free agent Tristan Thompson could be returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers on a three-year deal worth $53 million.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported Thursday that Thompson’s agent, Rich Paul, would have him sign the long-term contract with the Cavs. Broussard says the deal will be worth upward of $17 million annually.

Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal indicates that Broussard’s report is inaccurate, that no deal exists and that the Cavs “do not seem interested” in the reported figures. Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com also says reports of Thompson agreeing to the deal are inaccurate.

After the conflicting reports emerged, Broussard tweeted a clarification: Thompson is now apparently willing to sign a deal at those figures, and has backed off his demand for a max, but no deal has been agreed to thus far.
lolbroussard. he is worse at his job than literally half the randoms on the street would be.

This article, related to Broussard being a moron, is one of the things that annoys me so much about NBA sportswriters. They have this Rainman-style focus on just the absolute value of the total contract.

The Cavs would definitely rather sign TT to 5/80 than 3/53 even though it is fewer millions.

The Cavs would likely rather max him for 5/94($18.8M AAV) than give him 3/53($17.6 AAV). The whole argument to max TT is that sure, you'll overpay him this year, but when the cap is 102M you get him at a bargain. If you only give him three years you save yourself a few hundred K this year but lose out on the 2 outyears.

So maybe TT is sounding out the Cavs on whether they'd be willing to sign something shorter, but given his age and the salary cap, a shorter deal is good for him, not the team.

How can he keep being so wrong and stay employed?

Literally his only job is don't be wrong

There's a 0% chance he hasn't completely fabricated stories with no source at all

Speaking of Klay Thompson's brother, he plays for the Chicago White Sox, and he's pretty damn good.

The old court just looked too plain imo

Not saying Broussard is one of them but I can't wait for Billy Thin Skin to publicly reignite his feuds with former colleagues.

There's gonna be at least one awesome feud that comes out of nowhere.

Maybe he'll chairshot Kenny Mayne.

I've disliked watching Hawks home games for years. And that brown court made them nigh unwatchable for me, which was too bad because the team was good last year.

His visit to BS' 'place' is the first time I really was able to gauge Simmons surprising legit height. Just doesn't fit his face/frame - it's like one of those little people things where they break their bones to grow taller than they would naturally.

I assume this was pre-E60 and was the type of stepping stones to get where he did vis a vis NBA studio show.

Christopherson > Broussard

And it's not even close.

I like all the new court updates actually. But nugs is my winner.

Christophersen is a legit NBA media guy iyam.

I don't mind it but I'm not sure why the Hawks are trying so hard to make neon happen.

If any of you are actually serious about that Cavs job posting, shoot me a PM.

yeah we can pretty much thank the proliferation of porn and instagram and whatnots for most 1st world young females getting if not fit then at least willing to compensate for not being so via extra dirtiness

Gonna have to see some pics.

I can't think of anyone worse than Broussard. Across all sports. Guy is a legit retart who gets me riled up every time I see something of his

The league introduced a revised template for its Finals schedule Wednesday, scrapping its long-standing Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday model with a pledge to ensure two days between games any time teams are required to change cities.

The schedule for the 2016 NBA Finals if the series goes the full seven games:
Game 1 – Thursday, June 2
Game 2 – Sunday, June 5
Game 3 – Wednesday, June 8
Game 4 – Friday,‎ June 10
Game 5 – Monday, June 13
Game 6 – Thursday, June 16
Game 7 – Sunday,‎ June 19

Boo. That's two rest days after every game (except game 3), pushing the Finals out to 18 days long. Maybe it's better from a conditioning standpoint, but it's way worse from a fan standpoint imo.

There's some swirling around Bucks fans about Bennett going there.

And honestly, I could see it. Parker is going to be mostly PF this year but limited minutes especially early, so Bennett would just have to steal minutes from guys like Johnny O'Bryant, Chris Copeland, Miles Plumlee. And if he can't do that well he's not going to be able to get minutes anywhere.
09-25-2015 , 10:10 AM
lol parker ~ bennett sorry
