Pierce just mailed in multiple years of his prime on those bad Celtics teams. Gotta be part of his legacy imo. If the KG trade never happens he goes down as an uber-loser.

What years did he mail in? Was it 05-06 when he played 3k minutes and rocked a 23.6 per for a 35 win team?

The only arguable year was the 06-07, and ainge shut him down with a minor calf issue for a shot at Durant/Oden. Besides that season, he basically played huge minutes and busted his ass every year.

Yeah, i dunno, it's not like i was actually watching those Celtics. Bill Simmons was assuring me that Pierce was mailing it in and wanted to us all to call him the "mailman" or "the postage stamp" or something.

Pierce is an all time great but Kobe is the better career. It's close-ish though.

Players who age well always get their primes overrated once they're old.

Kobe's prime doesn't quite rape Pierce but it does require he buy his wife a big ring for forgiveness

yeah that's pretty crazy. he kinda became a 3 pt chucker for a couple seasons there and kinda torpedoed his efficiency but those ts%'s were prob solid for the league at that time

51.9 and 51.6 were the league average TS% in the 02-03 and 03-04 years. Pierce inexplicably shot 30% from 3 On 5 attempts per game over those 2 years after shooting 38.7% on 5 attempts per game over his first 4 years in the lesgue. Pierce had a 53.2 and 51.7 TS% over those two years

Pierce is one of my all time faves, but come on guys... Strictly on-court basketball it's not particularly close.

Kobe is almost as underrated in here as he is overrated by casualfan.
